The door swung open from the black BMW which had just pulled up in the driveway, the moonlight shining off of the surface of the vehicle. Gradually and slowly, Bob Cena emerged from the car, before shutting and locking the door and briskly walking to the front door of his new home in Miami, Florida. Bob fumbled around his pockets looking for the keys, finding them after a few moments and then enters the darkened house. Earlier in the night, Bob had been defeated by FEAR on Raw, and Bob's body had taken a serious beating. Bob threw his bag on the couch and took his shirt off to reveal the brusing on his abdomen from when FEAR came crashing down on top of him from the top rope to end the match, the impact knocking Bob unconscious for a few moments, which allowed FEAR to take the victory. Tonight was different than any other night in which Bob had lost. Usually he could take a loss and not worry about the consequences but as Bob walked up the stairs and through the hallway, he stopped at a door and peeked inside. It was the soon-to-be room of his and Nicole's newborn child, the driving force behind Bob resigning with ThyWWE. Tonight wasnt just a loss, and it wasnt just another night of writhing around in agony, Bob had let the victory bonus slip from his grasp tonight. He drastically needed money to provide for his family and so losing a match which means Bob is paid less. Bob looked around the room which would soon be filled with stuffed toys, and the playful sounds a newborn baby and felt a surge of disappointment travel around his body. Bob had never felt so ashamed of himself. Suddenly an arm wraps around Bob's waist which fills his body with warmth.
"You did great tonight."
Nicole kissed Bob on the cheek, bringing a smile to his face but still the aura of disappointment still lingered in the air.
Bob Cena:
"Sorry"
Nicole Moore:
"For what?"
Bob Cena:
"Letting down the family, letting money slip between my fin-..."
Nicole moved from behind Bob to standing in front of him, looking him right in the eye as he mentally beats himself up.
Nicole Moore:
"I dont care about money Robert, and our child wont care about money either. I'm proud of you for going out there and putting your life on the line for us, and to give us a comfortable life. But I dont want a fancy house, I dont want money....I just want you to be happy."
A geniune smile crept upon Bob's face and the couple embraced before kissing each other.
Bob Cena:
"I love you."
The scene opens up inside of the old PWU dojo in Belfast, Ireland, where Bob first debuted in wrestling on the 10th January 2009 on his 17th birthday. Bob walked around the now derelict building, PWU had been forced to move out of the building when they could no longer afford the rent but many old artifacts still remain, artifacts that Bob himself had bought from PWU to bring to his sanctuary. Bob had paid for replica's of the Championships that he had won while at PWU, the All-Ulster title, the PWU tag team titles and the PWU World title which he had won just a month prior to singing for ThyWWE after winning a battle royal after the current champion, Tron, had to vacate the title due to injury. Bob had became a hero to the PWU fanbase and in just a short 2 years had become the youngest World Champion in the company's history, a feat he would eventually attain in ThyWWE. Bob had never forgotten his memories in PWU, the first company he felt at home with and it still left a pain in his heart that he was no longer a member of the roster. PWU was also the place where Bob Cena first ran in to a man who went by the name of Zak Shields. Zak and Bob had never wrestled on the UK independent scene but Zak was one of the stand outs of the entire scene. When he travelled around the UK wrestling for different promotions, they would occasionally be on the same card, and Bob would always make sure he watched Zak's matches. Bob made it to ThyWWE before Zak which surprised even him because he was scouted at a show that Zak main evented in Leeds, Zak's hometown where the crowd were white hot for their hometown boy. But Zak was signed to a contract with ThyWWE and was shipped out to Japan almost immediately which disappointed Bob. He wanted to showcase his skills against the man he had been scouting, the man who had tore apart the British and Irish independents, rising to the top of each promotion he ever walked in to. Zak had something that Bob didnt at the time the two first met; experience. He had been around the block, taking on legends of the game, main eventing cards for years, whereas Bob was relatively new, and had never ventured outside of the UK. Zak was there when Bob won the PWU All-Ulster title and their first interaction occured.
"Good match kid."
A passing Zak Shields said as he brushed past Bob backstage, a compliment that stayed with him for his entire career. However, Bob's feelings surrounding that comment had gradually began to change over time. Originally, that comment made it all seem worth it, Bob had been watching this legend of the British circuit for months, and he was always blown away. Now to have him compliment has skills was an honour. However, now that Bob looks back upon it, he no longer sees a veteran complimenting a rookie, he sees a veteran trying to put the champion in his place. The use of the word "kid" had really got to Bob, "who the fuck does he think he is to talk down to me?!" a question which swirled around Bob's head each time he thought of that encounter. Bob had grown to be civil around Zak, the two had developed a close bond in the New Age, two men fighting for the same goals....or so he thought. Zak seemed more worried about the Television and Intercontinental Championships which would later become the International Championships. Being a member of the New Age wasnt about furthering the cause, it seemed like it was self preservation for Zak. He had security with us, he didnt have to worry about Rain or Demmie Mae because he had us by his side. Bob set up his camera and took his place where the old, dirty ring used to be in the centre of the room and began to talk.
Bob Cena:
"Ever since Wrestlemania I have been asked the same question over and over and over and over again.....why? Why Bob? Why did the New Age turn on Zak Shields? Why did the New Age brutally and viciously assault, maim, batter, break Zak Shields in half?....Have you ever asked an alcoholic why he went to rehab? Its because he was sick, he had poison inside of him and he needed to cut that poison out to get better. What the New Age did at Wrestlemania....We cut out the poison that was rotting us from the inside. And you can say how was Zak Shields the poison? He was the only champion in the group, and yeah while that is impressive. Who exactly did he beat? Who did he beat really while he was in the New Age? Nevermind that, when did he actually defend his championship? You look back at all of the Pay Per Views since he won the Television Championship and you will see Zak Shields consistently not defending the title. I mean look through every single show ThyWWE has held since Zak Shields defeated Demmie Mae for the Television Championship at Raw 127, he has defended his championship 4 times. We have held 21 Monday Night Raws not including this Monday coming, and 4 pay per views, 2 of which he didnt even defend his title on. 25 shows and this Monday it will be 26 and only on 4 of those shows has Zak Shields defended his championship. Now tell me, is that the mark of a successful champion? Because it seems to me that Zak Shields is not worthy enough to hold that championship and sooner rather than later, I'm going to liberate that championship from him."
Bob takes a few moments to gather his thoughts before continuing with his promo.
Bob Cena:
"Of course there is one other reason why I personally rallied to have you removed from the New Age, when you made your triumphant return to ThyWWE you did something which you I will never let you away with. You took the side of Bret Hart and you attacked me, setting up a match at Wrestlemania IV, a match in which I won by the way. Do you remember attacking me Zak? Do you remember it? Because I remember it like it was yesterday. And I have waited this long to get my revenge, losing sleep at night because of the snake in our midst....I am a patient, patient boy Zak. I wait and I wait and I wait. The difference, the core stand out difference between your actions that night and mine and the New Age's actions at Wrestlemania, is that our actions are defendable. We were right and you were wrong. And as long as you and I are still breathing, you will never have a moments peace because you are going to be looking over your shoulder, wondering when and where I'm coming."
Bob spots a poster at the corner of his eye off camera, a poster which he had just recently put up on the wall. Of Bob Cena and the New Age standing victorious at Wrestlemania V over Demmie Mae as EMTs and medical professionals rush the ring to check on her.
Bob Cena:
"And now you've enlisted the help of Demmie Mae, whats wrong Zak, cant you fight your own battles alone? The New Age does not have a problem with Demmie Mae because we dont see her as a threat, especially after what I did to her at Wrestlemania. This is between the New Age and Zak Shields, and since Demmie Mae wants to poke her nose in to matters which do not concern her, the New Age now has a problem with her. Demmie, do you wanna know why I think you have failed in ThyWWE? Why I think you are more bark than bite, more style than substance? It's because I have succeeded, where you have failed. And I'm not talking about beating Zak Shields, which I have done numerous times, I'm talking about your tenure here. You have been a key member of the ThyWWE roster for years, hell you were here when I arrived on the scene. But all those years of sacrifice, abandoning your loved ones to pursue your dream, all of it was for nothing, because you will never be as good as I am. From the age of 17 I have been doing this and in 6 short years of my career I have become a bonafide future Hall of Famer, an accolade which somehow you were deemed worthy of along with your gal pal, Zak Shields. There is one thing that really pissed me off, and placed you on a hitlist that really do not wanna be on. At Wrestlemania, I damn near shattered your skull when I beat you in a Last Man Standing match, and then on the very next show, you are just handed a shot at the International Championship....WHERE'S MY SHOT?! How come the WINNER of that match wasnt giving a reward for WINNING that match. You see that is the politics of this place and that is why the New Age are either going to bring this company the prestige that it has been missing for years....or we're gonna kill it for good."
The scene fades to black with the lasting image of Bob Cena standing in the middle of the dusty old dojo.
"You did great tonight."
Nicole kissed Bob on the cheek, bringing a smile to his face but still the aura of disappointment still lingered in the air.
