Bob walked through the curtain, head down, battered and bruised from his match with Demmie Mae earlier in the night and walked away from Gorilla, not even waiting on his New Age stablemates to join him in the back. Bob walked through the technical equipment and past the agents and EMTs until he got to a monitor and could see the carnage of what had just taken place. He watched as Zak Shields was strapped on to a stretcher, oozing blood with his International Championship placed carefully on his chest and he felt odd about it. Usually when Bob and the New Age picked off somebody and he watched them being stretchered to the back he felt a strong sense of pride, like it was a badge of honour. But this time, he didnt feel pride, he didnt even feel happiness, he felt like he had given Zak what he deserved. Regardless of how he felt about it, it had to happen, Zak's actions left him no other option. Bob broke his gaze at the monitor and walked the long walk to his locker room as heads turned to stare at the man covered in the blood of a man he once called his brother. Suddenly Bob was stopped by the emergence of the concerned Burris Troy, trying to get an exclusive for the ThyWWE Network.
Burris Troy:
"Bob, Bob, can we have a moment please?"
Bob doesnt say a word, but stops in his tracks, giving Burris a look that could send shivers down his spine.
Burris Troy:
"What just happened out there? Why did you and the New Age just take out your friend, Zak Shields?"
Bob Cena:
"Friend? Zak Shields isnt a friend of mine. Do you know where I've been for the last few months? I've been sitting on my couch at home and did I get one call from Zak Shields? One text message? One Tweet? One Tout? Did I have any form of communication with "my friend" Zak Shields? No. Zak Shields was too busy fratenising with his gal pal Bret Hart, so much so that it corrupted his mind. And I know that its hard for your tiny little brain to comprehend this Burris, but I did what I had to do tonight. Zak Shields was one of my best friends, a man who I had travelled the road with for a year, we were as close as can be but times change, people change, situations change and I find myself in a situation where Zak Shields has something that I want. That International Championship means better positions on the card, that International Championship means more money and that International Championship means a better life for my family. So that's what I want, and that's what I'm coming for."
Bob brushes past Burris and walks off toward his locker room as the scene fades to darkness.
THREE DAYS LATER
The scene opens up inside of an empty room in the home of Bob Cena in his new residence of Miami, Florida. Bob and Nicole decided to up and move to America seeing as Nicole had just lost her job and it would give them more time to spend together, rather than Bob going away for a few days every week. We see what appears to be the room of an infant, whitewashed walls, a cot in the corner and colourful toys in a box at the opposite end of the room. In the middle of the room stands a familiar figure, that of Bob Cena. Bob is wearing a red zipped up hoodie with a pair of grey sweats, the type of clothing that most would wear around the house on their off days. As the camera moved closer Bob began talking.
Bob Cena:
"In just a few days, I get to finally take on Richard Black, better known to the ThyWWE world as FEAR. Now a couple of years ago I would have been excited for this match because I was wrestling a guy who was so impressive, a guy who could wrestle a paper bag and make it a classic, a guy who I was respected. But I'm not excited to be wrestling FEAR for that reason.....Over the last few years, you have made a lot of terrible choices, I mean I'm not going to sit here and act holier than thou, I've made bad choices too. But my bad choices were things like a bad t-shirt design, spending too much money on a house in Miami, a bad haircut, nothing that really had any terrible ramifications. My poor choices have never left me in a situation of self loathing because of a night of poisoning my body, my poor choices never left me for 2 months. The reason I am excited for this match, is because I intend to beat you so badly that you will wish you were still stuck in LaLa Land. I want to beat up the hypocrite who used to walk around here with the Knights of the Roundtable looking on down on the entire roster because he beat thou who must not be named at Wrestlemania IV. And then he split, he left, he turned his back on the sport that he supposedly loves and now he comes back and we're all supposed to cheer for him? You have made a lot of dumb choices, choices that not many people really should survive but this just tops it. You have recently come out of a coma and in your first match back, you agree to step into the ring with two members of the most dominant force in ThyWWE. You do realise that this does not end well for Richard Black, dont you? Oh of course you do, but it doesnt matter because you have nothing to fight for, right? You see look around me right now. My first ever child will be born in a matter of months and I'm done playing games in ThyWWE, I'm tired of being a gimmick, and so, I dont care that you have nothing to fight for, because I actually do have a reason to compete. I do have a reason to go to that ring on Monday and kick your ass, I have a reason to go out to that ring and make sure that you leave on a stretcher because that means more money and that means a better life for myself and for my family."
Bob takes a few moments before moving on to his next topic of discussion: Triana. Triana is one of Bob's closest friends, a member of the New Age and quite possibly the most dominant woman to ever step foot inside of a ThyWWE ring. Bob always liked watching Triana's matches because she brought that fire and intensity that ran deep through the New Age, the emotions that brought the group closer together as a unit. Bob felt everything that Triana felt, he knew the feeling of being talented but having a ceiling placed upon your potential. That's how things worked for each member of the New Age, when you look at each member individually, they are all talented individuals in their own right but when they came together as a unit, they grew stronger. They learned from each other and they each benefitted from being around people who were just like them. Unlike FEAR, Bob had tremendous respect for Triana. The woman who had stood in the face of a male dominated world and did things her way, not caring what her critics say, she just went about her business and proved them all wrong. Despite the close relationship and the great deal of respect that had developed between both himself and Triana, recent times had changed Bob's mentality towards her. He watched Triana manhandle Zak Shields' lifeless carcass at Wrestlemania, much like she has manhandled many before in the past, and he didnt find himself looking at his friend, he was looking at a woman who could quite possibly become the next face of ThyWWE. Bob had watched her since day one and her growth had been almost impossible not to notice. She had walked in and took the Television Championship almost instantly from Demmie Mae, a talented wrestler in her own right, which caught Bob's attention. Her dominant reign, running through every challenger put her in a very small group of wrestlers who could take Bob out of his comfort zone and really test him.
Bob Cena:
"You know Vince McMahon, I have stated put anybody before me and I will run through them, I will hurt them, I will victimise them, I will take them out. I have said that it doesnt matter who you put in front of me and trust me it doesnt, but putting Triana in this match, was a very very smart move. I have just went through Hell against Demmie Mae and now I have to face one of the greatest wrestlers to have ever come into ThyWWE. And I respect Triana dont get me wrong, but she may hurt me, she may beat the hell out of me, she may bust me open, and she may very well kick my teeth down my throat....She will not stop me, and you will not stop the New Age by driving a wedge between us and putting us against each other. We are forged out of stone, we are carved out of iron. Sure we may be competitive, and we each strive to be the best but we wont be distracted from our ultimate goal because of Vince McMahon and his spiteful tactics. To you fans watching at home, let me assure you of something, the New Age are going to do one of two things: We will either bring this company back to the great company that it once was....or we're going to kill it and we're going to bury Vince McMahon with it."
The scene fades to black as Bob turns his attention back to applying the finishing touches to the room.
2 DAYS LATER
Bob sat wide eyed, watching the monitor in awe at what was on the screen. Bob didnt have many pleasant memories of hospitals, he hated being in or even around one. Throughout his wrestling career he had visited a lot of hospitals with a range of injuries, whether it be broken bones, torn muscles or the odd concussion, he had spent a lot of money on hospital bills. This was the worst part about moving from Belfast to Miami, the healthcare is a fucking joke in America. $8,000 just to get a diagnosis on a fucking concussion. It would probably be cheaper to book a flight home, go to a hospital in Belfast, get checked out for free and then fly back. Bob would be shelling out thousands of dollars for the next few months with a baby on the way.
"And here is your baby's heartbeat."
Bob's world stopped, it was real, everything that had been going on as of late, moving to Miami, resigning with ThyWWE, it was all for this. This precious piece of life, the catalyst for all of the change in Bob's life. Everything he has ever done, winning the World Championship, main eventing Wrestlemania, each event that would surely be the happiest point of a wrestler's life, none of those moments even compared to this. This was a feeling Bob had never felt before, such undying love for something that he had never even seen until now. Bob was snapped out of his trance by the sweet sound of Nicole laughing at the glazed over look on his face. Bob looked over at Nicole and couldnt help but smile at the woman he loved. It was weird, after so many years of Bob being nothing but an onlooker to other couples, he watched Kurt Orton and AJ when they were together in Operation Fuck Up and he was sickened by it. The two of them were "too coupley" for Bob's liking, the type of couple who you would invite to a party and would just sit together, completely ignoring everybody else. Yeah, they were those guys, which added to Bob's total distain for the two lovebirds. Bob actually used KO as a sort of "anti-role model" if there was such a thing, he tried to do whatever it took to not become that couple. He used to hate watching other couples but he what he loved the most about Nicole was that they werent one of "those couples". They were just friends who just so happened to be dating each other. Bob was sure this was the girl he was going to spend the rest of his life with, so much so that he had even bought the ring, he was just waiting for the right moment to ask. The sonographer left the room and Nicole turned to Bob.
Nicole Moore:
"So are you going to say anything or just sit there like a braindead with a creepy smile on your face?"
Bob laughed at the childish insult, which was a strange habit the two shared, rather than give each other cute nicknames like a lot of couples, they went the opposite route and just insulted each other, of course in a loving way. This was another thing that made living in the US difficult, in the UK the majority of people insult people they love with no malice in the statement, and so what they did was normal. But in the US, they werent so open to the idea. Bob and Nicole were still trying to get used to the transition, sure Bob had been to America a lot but he had never really stayed here long enough to know what its like, his schedule was just take a plane, wrestle, take a plane home. He never was there for an extended period of time. Ultimately he missed home, not the people, but he loved where he grew up. Its why he tried to stay there for aslong as possible before he was inevitably forced to move due to work.
Bob Cena:
"Sorry I'm just a bit blown away by this, its coming so fast that I dont really know what to think. I'm a bit worried."
Nicole Moore:
"Aw why?"
Bob was insecure about his ability to be a father for his child, he never really knew a lot about fatherhood, as a matter of fact, he knew nothing about being a father. He didnt even have a father figure in his life to guide him or teach him so he was his own father figure.
Bob Cena:
"I dont know the first thing about being a Da."
Nicole got up and hugged Bob. The warmth of her body immediately brought a smile to his face, like always.
Nicole Moore:
"Dont worry you'll learn, all you have to do is feed it and occasionally wipe its arse, I'm the one who has to have this thing come out of me. And anyway, if youre finding it difficult, I'll be there to help."
Bob and Nicole laughed and what she said did ease his mind a little, he forgot that he had Nicole by his side through this, he was worried about how he would cope and how he could handle it but it wasnt just him. He had the love of his life by his side, it was a journey they were embarking on together.
Bob Cena:
"I love you."
Burris Troy:
"Bob, Bob, can we have a moment please?"
