The scene opens up inside "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman's dojo. More specifically, the office where Steve Blackman is sitting across a desk from his sensei. We join in mid-conversation.
Blackman: It's only a dark match, Kinai-sensei. It won't even be televised.
Kinai-sensei: That may be true, Blackman-san, but one must never take for granted an opportunity to hone one's skills in combat. As unimportant as it may seem to some, every fight is of equal importance.
Blackman: Yes, I know. But, the guy I'm facing, Matt Sydal... he isn't very good, I'm not going to lie to you, Kinai-sensei.
Kinai-sensei: I've told you many times before, and I am sure that you remember... One must never underestimate an opponent. They will always surprise you. He may have mastered a new move or technique that you may not be familiar with. You're over-confidence could lead you to making a fatal mistake in the heat of the battle. A lack of respect for your opponent shows a lack of respect for yourself, Blackman-san. I can tell you now that your opponent, this Matt Sydal... he already has the upperhand.
Blackman: I've been doing this for as very long time.
Kinai-sensei: Ah, yes, that is true, but Sydal's heart may be stronger than yours right now. He is looking to prove himself. He has more to lose than you do, Blackman-san. Over-confidence shows a lack of heart, and if you do not humble yourself before this battle, I fear that you will fall.
Blackman: I will never fall to the likes of him, sensei! I defeated one of the top stars of the company in my very first match back! In the main event! And you mean to tell me that you don't think that I can defeat a worm like Matt Sydal?
Kinai-sensei: With an attitude like that, Blackman-san, you have already been defeated before the battle even begins.
Blackman: That's enough! I have a flight to catch. I am confident in my abilities. I figured that by now, you of all people would share that confidence. But I guess not! Goodbye, Kinai-sensei... thanks for nothing!
Steve Blackman storms out of the room, leaving his mentor shaking his head.

The scene opens up in the backstage area of Thy WWE RAW in the TD Garden in Boston. Steve Blackman is standing in the interview area. Joey the Bastard is with him.
JTB: You ready to kick some ass tonight, Blackie? I mean, nobody's gonna see it being a dark match, and all. And nobody in the crowd is gonna care, but still...
Blackman: Yeah, I'm ready. I'm ready to show the world that I belong on the main show and not just jerking the curtain facing scrubs like Matt Sydal. Sydal, I am a man of my word. I always repay my debts. Joey the Bastard brought me back to Thy WWE and I owe him my life. It is my ninja way. Always fulfill my duty, and see a job through to the end. And, to you Matt Sydal, I am also indebted. By being in the same ring as you competing against you, I am lessened as a human being. I am lessened as a competitor, and it sickens me to no end. I owe you a beating, Sydal. And I always repay my debts. It's my ninja way!
Steve Blackman turns and walks out of the shot as JTB slaps him on the back.
JTB: Well said, Blackie. He's got nothin' on you! Matt Sydal sucks!
Fade to commercial.
