Scene One: What Do I Fight For?
The scene opens up within a dark room. We see that a projector is playing on the screen that is on the wall. In the center of the room is a black leather chair, sitting in the chair is none other than Blade LaVigne. LaVigne is watching footage of what is seen as old family videos of him, his wife and their daughter. It's all in Blade's point of view. It shows the three at the park, Blade's daughter Stacy is very young, she is running around. Suddenly the scene takes over from within the video. Its 6 years back, the date is now 2009.
Blade turns the camera towards him. He begins to speak . Blade LaVigne: Man, what a great day. I am glad I bought this video camera, I can save our memories. Hey Jess... (Calling out to his wife)
Blade turns the camera towards Jessica. She is quite camera shy. Jessica is wearing this yellow dress that has a flower pattern on it. She smiled and let out a small laugh. Blade walks out to her, Blade pulls the camera away but points it at the both of them as they connect with a kiss.
Blade LaVigne: I could never ask for more...When we grow old together, we can look back at all the great times we had.
Jessica gives off a chuckle as she turns her head due to being camera shy.
Blade LaVigne: I have every I could ask for. I have you, Stacy, and I have a great job…
Oh come on Jess, don’t give me that look.
I know you don’t want me wrestling anymore, but it puts food on the table and it allows me to give us the life I always wanted…Jess, know that I will always do what I have to for this family. I mean, I wish I could be home more but…I must continue to work and one day, we won’t have any worries. We’ll have enough money to pay for Stacy to go to college, and that car you want.
This family is my whole world and I want to do whatever it takes to make sure we are secure and happy…
The scene slowly fades back to reality. Blade looks at the camera and begins to speak.
Blade LaVigne: ...Jessica died seven months later…
We see newspapers on the ground, all have reports of a “two vehicle car crash, one found dead.”
Blade LaVigne: …Six years later and I still can’t believe she’s no longer here. You don’t realize how much you love something until it’s really gone. Life is full of opportunities and if you don’t take them, you will miss them. I hope no one takes what they have for granted. I find myself working a little harder each and every day because I know that everything you work and hope for, can be ripped from your life within a blink of an eye.
Six years ago I lost my wife and took on the role of a single father. Yeah, it was difficult at first, I didn’t want to do anything anymore for a long time… I remember being fired from this small independent wrestling company and everything was just falling apart. I knew I couldn’t give up though, I had other family that helped me with small things here and there, but I knew I had to find work and be able to support me and most importantly, my daughter.
People may question, what do I fight for and why I put so much work and effort into my profession. I don’t fight for respect nor do I fight for the fame…I give everything I have to Thy WWE, for my family.
Week in and week out, the time I sacrifice, all of it, is for my family. So I can continue to support my daughter and give her the life I never had.
Wrestling is more than a job for me, it's support for my family and that’s what I fight for.
My family.
Blade stands up, clicks the projector off and walks off of view. The camera fades to black as the scene ends.
Scene Two: Day of Ascension: Eight Hours before Show Begins
The scene opens up and we are in Glendale, Arizona in the University of Phoenix. We are inside Blade LaVigne’s locker room. Blade is sitting on a leather couch, he is holding a photo of his deceased wife Jessie. He’s rubbing it with his thumb, just smiling at it. Blade pulls out his wallet and places the photo back in it. LaVigne is dressed in a black Thy WWE t-shirt and blue jeans. Blade has the Thy WWE title laying on his lap as he notices the camera. LaVigne faces the camera and begins to speak.
Blade “The Future” LaVigne: This time last year I was competing in the Royal Rumble that Ascension had to offer. I came up short but just the fact that in one years’ time, I went from wanting to win the rumble and earn that WrestleMania World Title main event match to now, defending that same championship against the Professor of Thuganomics, Bob Cena.
You know, Bob Cena has a thing for making my life a living hell. Ever since I won this championship, he and the rest of the New Age have tried to take me down and take Thy WWE by its steering wheel. They feel as if they are being treated unfairly and they think I don’t deserve to be standing here as Thy WWE Champion. They're wrong!
See, I’ve held this title for seven months now.
Blade leans forward, allowing his arms to rest on his knees, Blade drops his head for second before looking into the camera again and continuing to speak.
Blade “The Future” LaVigne: Over the last year I’ve climbed my way up the ladder and I did what I had to do to walk out of Anarchy as the new champion. Bob, we were in the same Elimination Champion and you had the same opportunity as seven other superstars to walk out with the Thy WWE Title.
Cena, it takes passion and heart to be a champion in this company and you should know by now that championships are never handed to you in this industry. In the end, I may not be the picture perfect champion that some people may expect, but I’ve done what it takes to win this title and continue to defend it.
Each week I put the work in and I make sure to leave everything I have inside that ring. Good things happen to good people Bob Cena and I’m proof of that.
Blade stands up off of the couch and continues to speak.
Blade “The Future” LaVigne: Thy WWE needed someone to turn on the light and save them from the illness that was once the Knights of the Round Table, what did I do? One after another, I took down each and every member of that group. And when Christian Knight wasn’t the leader Thy WWE needed to succeed? I earned my spot in the Elimination Chamber at Anarchy and I became world champion. If I am not the ideal champion, at-least I have the ideal mindset of one. I want nothing but the best for this company and me being champion is just one piece to that puzzle.
Bob, when we meet later on tonight in a Anywhere Falls TKO match that we will call, Lights Out, I wish you the best of luck but understand something, I don’t plan on leaving this arena without….
Blade lifts the title over his head.
Blade “The Future” LaVigne: This Title!
......
And Cena, You Will Thank Me In The End!
Blade walks off of view as the camera fades to black and the scene ends.
---------------- Not the best RP for a title match. Too bad POT couldn't make it. Slow few weeks, let's get past this PPV and hopefully we can pick up the activity.
