The Scene opens up in the locker room of Operation Fuck Up backstage at Anarchy 2013. We see the duo of John O'Neill, better known by his stage name, Crack and Bob Cena, who had beaten Bret "The Hitman" Hart earlier on in the night via Submission. Bob was steamrolling through the roster and he was hungry for an opportunity at the big time. He had taken Kurt Orton under his wing and accepted him into OFU as an official member and together they had picked up a record of 3 wins and 0 losses, with Bob getting the pinfall each time. Bob was sat on the black leather sofa in his ring gear, with dry sweat all over his body as he was yet to shower as he wanted to watch the rest of the show, especially the main event. The main event was Kurt Orton versus the ThyWWE World Heavyweight Champion, Beno, in a Casket match, and it had gone on for a little over a half hour. John sat beside Bob, watching eagerly as his friend attempted to regain the World Heavyweight Championship, which he lost at the hands of Bob in 2012. Bob's thinking was a little different however....
Beno catches his breath as Kurt reels back out of the turnbuckle out of pain. Both men head towards each other in the center of the ring. Both of them exhausted to the brink now. Kurt Orton reels back his right hand and connects Beno with his fist. Beno reels back his left hand and connects Kurt Orton with his fist. Kurt Orton reels back his right hand and connects Beno with his fist. Beno reels back his left hand and connects Kurt Orton with his fist. The two of them continue the back and forth tirade.
"How the fuck is he in this match over me?"
Kurt throws a right handed punch, Beno retaliates with a left handed punch. Kurt rock Beno back with a hard left handed punch, Beno rock Kurt back with his own left handed punch, and launches another right handed punch that sends Kurt staggering backwards.
"I'm the real star of this group, I've carried his ass since day one."
Beno see's an opportunity and plants a kick into the gut of Kurt Orton. He scoops him up and drags him towards the casket. Heaving him up he plants a Beno Bomb that sends Kurt Orton Crashing into the Casket. Beno doesn't hesitate and slams the Casket closed, and the referee signals for the bell.
Winner: Beno
"What a fucking surprise."
Bob stayed silent throughout the match, as he quietly questioned why Kurt Orton was selected to face Beno at a pay per view where Bob and Bret Hart had to curtain jerk. It felt like a slap in Bob's face. Bob won his match but there was still a feeling of disappointment lingering inside his mind. He prided himself on being one of the top draws in ThyWWE and expected respect in return for the money he brought into the company, but it seemed like he was taken for granted. Bob hated Kurt, he was the ultimate backstage politician, think 1997 Shawn Michaels with a lot less talent and a bigger ego. Kurt was the loudmouth of the locker room, he liked to big himself up and brag about meaningless wins over guys like Stalker Knight and wash over guys like Bob who had beaten him 5 times already in the past, without tasting defeat against him. Each time Bob fought Kurt the same result occured, Kurt inevitably lost, but that didnt stop him from disrespecting Bob. By this time, Kurt had been a member of Operation Fuck Up for 3 months and they had teamed together for 3 matches, with Bob getting the pinfall in each match, 2 of which Kurt didnt bother his ass to turn up for. Tonight was the final straw for Bob, he had enough of Kurt's antics, there was rumours that Kurt was going between ThyWWE and another company to get himself a better offer, that would certainly explain why Kurt was getting a lot of high profile matches like this one and the match with Christian Knight on Raw 100. Bob stood up and walked into the shower room without saying a word to Crack as he heard footsteps on the other side of the door, he didn't feel ready to even look at Kurt nevermind talk to him. The scene opens up in the Odeon multiplex in the Victoria Square shopping centre in the city centre of Belfast. We see the film that is currently being watched is Hercules, starring the man who Bob Cena beat in his debut match in ThyWWE, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The room isnt as full as usual as it is an early morning showing, but there are couples placed sporadically around the room. At the back by the door, we see Bob Cena sitting with his girlfriend, Nicole, only one of whom seems to be into the film. The film was Nicole's idea, as you would expect, The Rock isnt a superstar to Bob, not after he beat him in his debut match, so he wasnt as wrapped up in his career like the rest of the world was. Nicole was cuddling up to Bob as he had his arm around her, but Bob's pocket began to vibrate. Bob slid his phone out of his pocket to see "John Calling", as his face was lit up by the screen. Nicole didnt realise that Bob had taken his phone out, and he quickly ignored it and put it back in his pocket. Moments later his pocket started vibrating again, and again Nicole didnt notice it. Bob quietly excused himself, telling her he had to go to the toilet. As Bob left the theatre, he quickly answered his phone.
"What?"
"No need to be a dick fuck sake, I just got an email about your match."
"Cant it wait? I'm with Nicole."
"Bob, it's Kurt."
"Kurt?....Kurt Orton?"
"Yeah, Kurt Orton."
Bob smirked as he had the news broken to him, he needed a win to give himself some momentum going into his match with Blade LaVigne at Oppression and he had always had a great record against Kurt. Plus, he always had fun smashing his fist into Kurt's face.
"I never even knew he was back."
"Yeah, he came back last week, he said something about not being treated the way a former world champion should be treated was why he left, what a dick."
"Yeah mate, just a typical Kurt Orton sentence. Anyway I gotta go, she thinks I'm taking a piss, later lad."
"Alright, sweet lad, later."
Bob slid the phone back in his pocket and re-entered the theatre to see a huge fight scene on the screen. Nicole smiled as he walked in and signalled for him to hurry up and get back to her.
"Did I miss much?"
"No, it's just starting to get good now."
"Great."
The film was only half an hour in and it was already feeling like a drag for Bob but he preferred to sit through an hour and a half of Hell than to sit through 2 days of the silent treatment. He had his arm around her and his mind started to drift off as the thought of his match with Kurt on Monday is fresh in his mind. But before he can get a clear image in his head, he quickly stops himself.
"What am I doing? I screwed this up once, I cant let myself screw it up again."
Bob had made it a habit to blank out when he was with Nicole as of late, he would just go to a place in his head and think about wrestling, he never felt human. He never saw a problem with it, wrestling made him the man he is today so why should he ignore it and possibly underprepare for a match with Kurt Orton. Underpreparing for a match with Kurt Orton? Bit ironic to be honest with his history. Bob chuckled to himself as he thought this. He thought about Nicole and all the things about her that he loved; her eyes, her intelligence, her God awful taste for Dwayne Johnson movies. There may have been things about her that Bob didnt agree with but he was able to look past them because for once in his life, he was....He was happy. The sudden realisation in Bob's mind triggered flashbacks to previous points in his life, to the death of his father, to his first wrestling injury, losing at Wrestlemania. Each one of these moments were main plot points in Bob's life and had always hindered him, both in the ring and outside of it. He was a miserable shell of a man portraying a cocky, arrogant son of bitch. But Nicole saw through Bob's facade, he didnt have to play up to an audience, he didnt need to learn a script to keep her interested, he could finally be himself; A gift Bob had never experienced before. Why was he messing it up for himself? There was one condition to making this relationship work and Bob was breaking it, Nicole wanted to be put first over his career. We fast firward to Sunday night and Bob has just arrived at his hotel in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. The hotel is called the Clarendon Hotel & Spa, a four star hotel, highly regarded in the city of Phoenix. Since Bob started going on the road again with Thy, he started booking his own accomodation, it may have been costly but it was a lot more comfortable than a bus, which he was previously using. Bob had paid for a two bed room so that he and John could bunk together, like they always had throughout Bob's career, also it was an expensive hotel and Bob didnt want to spend a lot on a 24 hour stay. He had gotten through the week without really given his match with Kurt much thought, but it always lingered at the back of his mind. He spent the week with Nicole, enjoying her company, and above all else, giving his mind a break from the constant game plans he practised before a match. As Bob and John entered the room, Bob through his bag on to his bed and John did the same with his. Bob was wearing a black zipped up Operation Fuck Up hoodie with a pair of navy blue Puma sweats. John on the other hand is wearing the same Operation Fuck Up hoodie with a pair of navy McKenzie shorts.
"So....Maybe we should cut the promo now...Here seems a good spot."
Bob walked towards the window and drew the golden curtains to block the sunlight from interfering with the shot. He stood in front of the curtain as John took out his phone and got ready to start recording.
"3. 2. 1. Start!"
Bob smirks to the camera as Jogn signals for him to start talking. He takes a moment to consider the points he wants to cover before he starts to talk.
"You know, when I walked in to this company, I joined a group, a group that was filled with promising individuals, led by a man with a vision. This vision would see him become the star that he had all the potential to be, this vision blinded his fellow man so they would foolishly follow. And like a lamb led to slaughter, we went to bat for this man.....But one man, one man saw through this charade, one man saw his leader as nothing more than a phony who was using his cunning ways to get a step above the rest of the pack. This man's name was Bob Cena, this man outsmarted the fox, this man achieved that his leader had created against the will of his leader. And I learned right then and there, that you dont friends in this industry, you dont need the approval of the locker room, you need to have the balls to do what you wanna do. Now let us take a look at the men and women in that group. First off, we got the leader, we got the "Saviour of ThyWWE", Jacob Senn. Now me and Jacob, we have history, we go way back, this man was tipped to be the star of Eternal, to lead ThyWWE into a new era, but never really amounted to anything, did he? Next we got Aaron, a man who I'll be honest, I dont know much about, he wasnt anything special, he was just another body in the fray. Maryse, a woman who's ThyWWE career was filled with regret and controversy. And then we get to the man who was tipped by many to be the future, a man who was a fourth generation superstar, Kurt Orton. Now when you talk about Kurt Orton, the name Bob Cena will inevitably be mentioned in the same sentence, and its not because of our "historic" battles, its because without Bob Cena, there is no Kurt Orton. I was the diamond in the rough, I made Eternal relevant. I gave Kurt Orton an option when I turned my back on Eternal, I said to him to leave, to make a name for himself or he would suffer the same consequences that Aaron did, that Maryse did, and Kurt was smart, Kurt left, he saw a sinking ship and jumped over board. I also gave Kurt the advice to join me, to follow in my footsteps and take down Eternal but noooo. Kurt's pride and legacy was too much, you couldnt handle playing second footing to anybody could you Kurt? I wanna tell you something Kurt, I couldve let you stay in that mess, I could have cracked you over the head with a steel pipe, giving a concussion in the process like I did to Jacob, but I didnt. I held back, I didnt do what I had planned, I let you run free because I saw yur potential. Do you think anybody else would have helped you in that situation Kurt? They would have destroyed you, they would have let your career fizzle out, then what Kurt? What would you have done? You wouldve been forced to watch me from the sidelines as I took the world by storm. There would have been no Kurt Orton and AJ Lee, because you met her while you were wrestling here. There would have been no 2 week world title run, no all you would be able to look back on in your life is all of your life's regrets. In late 2013, you walked out on this company and you walked off into the sunset with your wife and all of your achievements and you were finally able to retire. But now.....Now you've come back? I'm not that mellow Kurt, this time you wont get another warning. This time I wont stop in my tracks and give you a free pass. This time I will finish the job that I set out to take care of in 2011. What if....Listen to me, what if, by the end of the night, you cant walk anymore. What if I finish the job and take out the trash like I wanted to in the past?"
Bob starts to pace back and forth as he speaks, still with a grin on his face.
"What if after I'm finished with you, you cant satisfy your wife anymore? You pride yourself on your ability to drop "pipebombs" on ThyWWE, well I got a little something to drop on you. You left ThyWWE because you felt you werent being treated like the former World Heavyweight Champion that you were, but here's the thing Kurt. You were handed that championship, you didnt earn that, it was gifted to you because Alex Kendall no longer wanted to be here anymore. And you know I'm right yet you still persist on walking around ThyWWE with a shit eating grin, acting like you're the biggest thing to ever hit this industry. Let me bring you on a journey back to reality Kurt, you are no Christian Knight, you are no Jonny Freeman, you're no Alex Kendall and you're certainly no Bob Cena. I'm going to drop a couple of terms on you Kurt; Lackey, follower, bag carrying bitch, that is all you ever were in OFU, you were of no significance to me, hell I carried you through every single match that we had. Not only that but then you had to go and bitch and moan and bitch and moan and complain about losing your World Heavyweight Championship after you put in an absolutely appaling display. Not only did you disrespect the championship, you also disrespected me, because when you proclaimed that I had to give you a shot, when you proclaimed that the only reason I was the champion was because you didnt give it your all. Kurt, you wanna know why I'm the best? You wanna know why I am better than you and I always will be? Its because I dont bitch about what I dont get, I put my all into achieving what I want to achieve, I give my all for this business to leave a mark on this company, while you're content with being remembered as a nobody who just so happened to have been gifted a championship. The difference between me and you Kurt, when you fail, you bitch about it and then continue on the same path that you were already on. When I fail, I get back up, I dust myself off, and I improve myself and become even better than I already am. You proved everybody wrong at Acension 2013, and then in the following weeks, you started the same old song and dance that made you such a joke to begin with and you proved to everybody that you were nothing more than a one hit wonder. And I'm straight forward with somebody that I dont like Kurt, unlike you, you're dishonest, you go between companies for the better deal in the hope that somebody is foolish enough to give you what you want until you piss all that away and you run crying back with your tail between your legs to the other company. You came back and you did what you do best, you were narcissistic, you spoke down to other people, you bigged yourself up, and you cant even try to say that the things that I'm pointing out arent true "kid". That is why I dont respect you Kurt, you have more style than substance, you give off this impression that you're a "veteran" of ThyWWE but then you go and behave like a little child when you dont get what you want. I dont want the championship so that I can "make a statement", I dont want to win the World Championship to be able to say that I'm the champion, I want the championship because it proves that when you're talking about wrestling ability, there is not a man or woman on this planet who can stop me....So please continue on with your self destructive ways, because win, lose or draw this Monday, you know that every single word that I've just said is true.
Cena stops pacing and moves closer to the camera, with a serious look on his face.
"Now that....Is a pipebomb"
Cena holds his arms out after he finishes his sentence, looking to the sky before lowering his head again and looking into the camera.
"Best....in the world."
The camera shuts off as John stops filming Bob'a promo, and immediately starts the uploading process to Youtube, Twitter and Facebook to get as much media coverage as possible for the match as the scene fades to darkness.
Beno catches his breath as Kurt reels back out of the turnbuckle out of pain. Both men head towards each other in the center of the ring. Both of them exhausted to the brink now.
