The Elimination Chamber is in full swing and Zak has already been busted wide open and thrown through the fiber glass of the pod when the camera pans back into a locker room with Sophie stood watching the match on a TV screen. Sophie seems to be holding something in her hand as she continues to watch the match even though Zak is currently knocked out cold on the floor. Moments later the door to the locker room flies open and Bret walks in. Sophie turns and smiles and she then turns back to the TV. Bret goes to get a bottle of water and he then sits down on the couch and he watches the screen too. He opens the bottle and he takes a swig and closes it back up. Bret turns to Sophie.
Bret Hart – “How’s he doing?”
Sophie Dumas – “He’s doing ok. He was the last out but he got his real bad.”
They continue to watch the match unfold as one by one the contestants start to fall out of the running. Until only the final 5 remain. They watch as Zak and his nemesis Bob Cena battle it out in the middle of the ring. Moments seem like hours until Zak gets the upper hand and lands the Wild Bomb onto Bob and thus eliminating him from the match. Both Bret and Sophie jump up and down with sheer delight. Sophie drops the item she has been holding in her hand as she hugs Bret. Bret looks down to see a pregnancy test and he jumps to the opportunity to pick it up. When he stands up Sophie is in shock as she shakes her head.
Sophie Dumas – “I haven’t read it yet. What does it say?”
Bret says nothing as he just smiles and hands it back to her and she takes it from him looking at a positive reading. She begins to cry as she takes a seat and Bret starts to comfort her. It only takes Bret a few seconds to realize that the tears are tears of joy not sadness. Before they know what is happening Zak has been eliminated from the match and he has made his way to the backstage area. Sophie looks at Bret.
Sophie Dumas – “Please don’t tell Zak yet. I want to wait until the time is right to tell him.”
Bret Hart – “Don’t worry it’s not my place to tell him.”
Just then Zak is helped through the door by a medic. Zak’s head is bleeding quite badly as Sophie runs to help him and Bret disposes of the test in the trash can. Zak is helped to the couch and the medic starts to work his magic and takes out some gauze and holds it against Zak’s head to try and slow down the bleeding. Sophie is holding Zak’s hand and Bret is helping the medic by handing him more gauze.
Medic – “This is going to need stiches Zak.”
Zak Shields – “Don’t worry about it. Sophie I’m so sorry.”
Sophie Dumas – “Sorry for what Zak?”
Zak Shields – “I’m sorry I couldn’t win the match and bring the title back with me.”
Sophie kisses Zak’s hand.
Sophie Dumas – “I’m just glad you’re safe. You still my Champion.”
The scene fades with the medic trying to keep the bleeding under control.
The night of RAW 132 and Bret is seen rushing around the backstage area looking for Zak, he pushes past other superstars and he occasionally asks the passing people if anyone has seen Zak. Zak has not been seen by anyone since Anarchy. He never checked into his hotel room and not even Sophie knows where he has gotten to. Bret finds a quiet spot and he takes out his cell phone and he dials Zak’s number. The cell rings and Bret is about to hang up when Zak picks up.
Zak Shields – “Hello?”
Zak’s voice is broken and slow.
Bret Hart – “Zak, It’s me Bret. Where are you mate?”
Zak Shields – “Bret… I’m not going to make it this week.”
Bret Hart – “No shit! Where are you? I’m worried and so is Sophie. She needs you here. Vince is pissed that you didn’t show up tonight.”
Zak Shields – “I know mate. Shit went down at home and I had to get home on a flight. Sorry. I don’t care if they take my Title away, My sister and her family come first.”
Bret takes a deep breath as a steward comes running up to Bret and whispers something into Bret’s ear. Bret nods and the steward leaves.
Bret Hart – “Zak mate, your one luck bastard. Bryn didn’t show up either. You’re both scheduled to face off next week. You better be there.”
Zak Shields – “I’m sorry Bret. I’ll be there. Bye.”
Bret hangs up the phone and Sophie appears from behind him with a tear in her eye.
Sophie Dumas – “Where is he Bret? Is he coming?”
Bret holds her in his arms as he comforts her.
Bret Hart – “Its ok he just had to fly home. He will be back next week in time for RAW 133. Well he better be. I don’t want to repeat what Vince said to me in his office. I’ve never seen a man turn that shade of red before.”
Zak is sat in a dark room only to be lit by a single candle. He is wearing his ring attire so it must be near the RAW 133 event. The THY Television title is slung over his right shoulder. Zak’s battle scars from the Elimination Chamber are still fresh and the white bandage on his forehead is slightly stained with dry blood as the bleeding has not long fully subsided. Zak lets out a smile as he begins to talk.
Zak Shields – “Anarchy, It was all pure Anarchy. I had reached the final four and I was halfway to making my dream a reality. There stood only 3 more men in my way. Joey the Bastard, Christian Knight and of course our newly crowned champion Blade LaVinge. I could almost touch the title when my world came crashing down by none other than J…T…B.”
Zak takes a second.
Zak Shields – “This all means that I, Zak Shields am one of the top players in this game of thrones. But I digress, Let me just refresh everyone about the open Battle Royal where I openly invited all on comers to become the number 1 contender for my title and yet no man deemed himself worthy of that cause. Could you imagine me as the world champion? No one would dare step in the ring with me never mind contend for my title. Look at last week for example, Yes I didn’t show up but that’s because I needed to return home and be at my sister’s side. Bryn Shander a US marine decided he was too afraid to turn up and face me. Do you really think Bryn that I should honor you with a second chance to step into the ring with me? Well the backroom staff seems to think it’s fair. Now I’m not going to take anything away from you. Beating Prince Xavier at Anarchy was nothing short of amazing but when you’re a big time player like me in this business then taking on 7 other men is a true challenge. Bryn I’m warning you now. Don’t bother turning up this week either!”
Bret Hart – “How’s he doing?”
Sophie Dumas – “He’s doing ok. He was the last out but he got his real bad.”
