‘Voices’ by Rev Theory blares out of the PA System as the fan rise to their feet in order to show their support for one of THY WWE’s newest stars, Randy Orton. As the crimson lights mask the stage, the Viper pushes past the curtain to a standing ovation. He poses on the ramp, already dressed in his ring attire that he’d compete in later that night. His attitude may have changed through the years but his attire never did, jet black boots with black wrestling trunks enhanced by decorative tribal markings. The Missouri native has a short grin on his face while he makes his way down to the ring clearly with something on his mind. Randy ascends the steel steps before stepping into the ring between the ropes; walking towards the ring announcer, Steve Cruise, he is handed a microphone. Patrolling the ring slowly, waiting for the fans to calm down somewhat, the Viper begins to speak to the sell out pay per view crowd.
Randy Orton: What a ride my first month has been here on THY WWE but, I think it’s finally time that I declare that I’m officially at home. With a little focus from my old man this is the best I’ve felt in a long time but, more importantly, it’s the most focused I’ve been on what matters in a long time. Last week, I proved that I can still be the Apex Predator that is feared throughout the locker room. Kane didn’t stand a chance once I had my eyes firmly locked on my target, it takes more than the Devil to strike fear into my heart. The Big Red Machine, the human wrecking ball fell at my feet and it was me who stood in this ring with my hand raised triumphantly. That’s just a sign of things to come, I’ve never stepped down from a challenge; some say I talk the talk but right now it certainly looks like I walk the walk too doesn’t it? Last week you all so the Randy Orton that brings fans into their seats, the Randy Orton that won World Championship after World Championship and the Randy Orton that you’ve all come to know as the Viper.
The fans cheer, giving their support to the self proclaimed Apex Predator, the confidence was back, the focus was back, this man was dangerous again. Continuing to patrol the ring, a smirk shown off to the crowd, Randy once again raises the microphone to his lips.
Randy Orton: Tonight’s show is my first PPV event for the company and the name is very apt. The Supremacy has begun, this is another step in the new era that it about to sweep through this company. There isn’t a single person in the back who can stop or hinder the up and coming apocalypse. I’ve always been the one to make an impact, throughout my career I’ve never been one to take handouts, I’ve seen an opportunity and I’ve seized it. Just take a look when I joined forces with the legendary Nature Boy Ric Flair, the Game HHH and the Animal Batista I saw an opportunity to separate myself from the pack and win the World Heavyweight Championship. When I saw an opportunity on a mentally detached Rey Mysterio I won my way into the main event at Wrestlemania. The only question is though, where’s the next opportunity going to come, what opening am I going to create for myself? I can guarantee you one thing though, that tonight it’s going to be another reason to call me the Apex Predator and another reason for all those in the back to fear being put in a match against the Viper.
Cheers sound for some of the legends mentioned by Randy Orton, ‘Woooo’s sounding following the mention of the Nature Boy but, that was a result of mentioning the sixteen time world champion in any wrestling venue. A smile spreads across the Apex Preadator’s face as he remembers his past triumphs and memories, things were sweet back then but things were going to get even better for him here. It was known that Evolution was a major stepping stone for Orton and this time around Orton wanted to forge his name into company legacy without the help of such a powerful alliance.
Randy Orton: Tonight my opponent is going to be Jax Sykes; but of course you already know that, that’s the reason you all bought tickets tonight. You see we don’t need to be placed as the main event, we don’t even need to be placed on posters, the real fans know who’s taking on who and the real fans come to see your very own Apex Predator. In fact with our match being one of the first up it’s clear that THY WWE are trying to move with their best foot forward, get the fans hooked with the best it has to offer before lowering the standards into tonight’s main event. Truth is told I haven’t heard much about my opponent tonight, Jax Sykes but the consensus around the locker room seems to be that he’s a bit of a punk; well tonight I’m going to make sure that Jax has a bit more respect for his fellow superstars. If you want to step into the ring with me Jax, show me no respect then I can promise you right now that you won’t last two minutes in the ring with me. If you want to think you’re better than everyone else then it’s time to bring you down to earth because I am the real deal, but you, you are not.
Dropping the microphone to the mat as he rolls out of the ring, the Apex Predator walks back up the ramp to a huge ovation from the crowd. Tonight’s match was another big one for the Viper and not only because it was his first PPV match but because, with a third win in a row Randy Orton would certainly start turning heads.
