(OOC--My writers appear to be MIA, so many matches are summarized....my apologies)
---
Raw opens in the ring with the World Champion Sheamus standing tall with the belt slung proudly over his shoulder and a microphone in hand.
Sheamus: Wrestlemania…..Triple H, The Game. Hunter you may have won the Royal Rumble fella…but I can guarantee you that it’s a feat I will make you grow to regret fella. If you don’t believe me….take a look at a little package I’ve put together for you fella.
Motioning towards the big screen, we can see a video package begin to play.
Literally seconds after the package ends, we see Sheamus lift the mic back to his lips, but as he goes to speak he is cut off by the music of the Raw General Manager Austin Starr. As “Superstar” blasts over the speakers, Austin walks out onto the stage and wastes no time as he makes his way down to the ring. Sheamus is scowling at the interruption as Austin rolls inside of the ring. Getting a microphone, we see Austin look at Sheamus and shake his head. This causes the champ to speak first.
Sheamus: Who the hell do you think you are to interrupt me Starr!
Getting in front of Sheamus, we see Austin grin as he begins to speak.
Austin Starr: I’m your boss Sheamus, don’t forget that you work for me. Now last week when I stepped into the chair that Speedwagon vacated, I promised that I would keep my presence brief….but make my appearances memorable. Now the reason why I’m here right now is simple….I along with the rest of the world just saw the little video you put together and I am most definitely not impressed. Little smoke and mirrors tricks like this are not like you Sheamus, I remember you as a man of action.
Seeing Sheamus begin to speak, Austin cuts him off.
Don’t!
Now I don’t know why, and I don’t care to know. But you have gotten complacent Sheamus, the fire that you had in your eyes the night you stormed back onto the scene is gone. Now you have fallen into the same level that Punk and Maven were…lazy and halfhearted performances. I will not have such a disgusting effort take place on my show.
Sheamus: You wait a minute there Starr! You talk mighty big fella for a man who doesn’t even compete anymore. You never even won a World Championship here, what makes you think that you have any right to stand here and judge me fella?
Austin Starr: The difference between guys like you and guys like me Sheamus is simple. Guys like you need props to feel like they are great and to be viewed as great. Guys like me……don’t.
Sheamus: Tell me something Mr. General Manager, your talking a mighty big game…but what would you do right now if I was to just kick your teeth down your throat?
Seeing the champion step towards him causes Austin to grin once again.
Austin Starr: Do you feel it Sheamus? Do you feel that fire burning inside you? Because I see it in your eyes….I can see the passion burning right now that has been absent for quite some time. That’s good champ, because you are going to need it. I’ve heard that you want to be looked at as a fighting champion…I heard you will take on any challenger at any time.
Sheamus: Who do you have in mind Starr! Bring him on!
Austin Starr: Oh not tonight champ…next week live on Raw, you will be defending your World Championship against quite honestly my most impressive coup yet. It took some clever negotiating on my part to get this man to agree to face you champ, but it was worth it. Your opponent Sheamus…..is none other then the man you defeated for the belt. You all know him…it’s Jonny Freeman.
The fans howl in approval as Sheamus simply shakes his head from left to right, not breaking his gaze at Starr.
Austin Starr: Good luck champ….I think you’ll need it. Now if you excuse me, I’ve got other matters I need to attend to.
“Superstar” kicks on over the speakers and Austin brushes past Sheamus as the show goes to a commercial break.
