~{$}~SCENE ONE~{$}~
With a flicker of static the scene comes into focus inside Brian Gunn’s Miami beach house where by the looks of the place a party has taken place due to plastic cups and all other rubbish littering the floor and party balloons and banners hanging from the walls along with party streamers laying on every surface, as the camera moves through the house there are people laying passed out in the rubbish on the floor and one man passed out in the kitchen sink with just his underwear on with a party hat on his head, the camera continues to wade through the sea of rubbish and passed out body’s until it reaches the decking at the back of the house that looks out over the sea then as it pans around the decking a large hot tub comes into focus with a familiar looking man in the hot tub. As the camera nears the man it becomes clear that it is none other than Brian Gunn relaxing in the tub with a pair of black sunglasses on with a glass off whiskey and coke in one hand a cigar in the other, after a few moments Brian lets out a cough then sighs and puts his hand with the cigar in it to his forehead and rubs it clearly from his actions Brian is suffering from a hangover, a few moments roll past then Brian finally notices the camera and lowers his shades down abit and looks over the top of them then sighs again then slowly pulls himself out the water but then sighs again and sits back down in the hot tub then takes a large mouthful of his drink and a pull on his cigar then after a few moments after blowing out the smoke Brian begins to speak.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Thy Wwe welcome to the land of the lost souls... Ha ha my loyal followers you have just tuned into channel World’s Greatest and we doing Large down here so if you got a bikini and love to drink then by god get your ass down to Gunn land and have yourself a ball or play with my balls but it’s your choice...
Brian chuckles for a few moments then gulps another mouthful of his drink and takes a few more puffs of his cigar before speaking again...
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Let’s get serious for a few moments you see I have the biggest match of my life coming up this week and it is going to be one hell of a brawl because it is going to be round two of Sheamus vs Brian Gunn just like the thy universe has been praying and pleading for, for months when I was in retirement all I heard from fans was when are you going to go against sheamus again, we want you to beat the hell out of sheamus... come on Brian you need to beat him it will be the match of the century. So after months of sitting around listening to everyone go on about it I heard a rumour that Sheamus returned to Thy Wwe and I thought hell lets go for it so I called Vince McMahon and I told him that I was coming home to Monday night raw with one thing in my mind and that was that I was going to repay Sheamus for taking me out before...
Brian pauses for a few moments...
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Sheamus is a great warrior but when it comes down to it he has luck on his side, he is the most lucky person I have ever seen I mean just look at him and Justin Time Time had the win all set up then bam both men hit the ground and sheamus lands on top of Justin and gets the win, but that story is nothing to do with what will happen at the rumble because this Sunday two worlds will collide and two of the biggest icons in wrestling will do battle but when the dust settles there will only be one icon standing with the title raised high above his head and that icon will be me, now I know everyone says the same thing but everyone in the world knows what I am saying is the truth.. Everyone knows that I will win for the simple fact is I am hungrier more willing to do whatever it takes to get the win where as sheamus has got lazy since becoming the champ.
Brian stretches for a few moments then stands up and climbs out of the hot tub then once out of the tub Brian walks over to a deck chair and grabs a big beach towel off of it and dry’s himself off, once Brian finishes drying himself off he hangs the towel over the hand rail then picks up a pair of grey sweatpants and puts them on then walks inside the house and wades through the rubbish on the floor for a moment before stopping and speaking.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Man I need to get a new cleaner this place looks like a bomb has hit it... screw it at least it was a fun night...
Brian chuckles to himself then walks over to the sofa and rolls a guy off of it that was laying sleeping causing him to crash down on top of the rubbish on the floor then as Brian sits down on the sofa he puts his feet on the guys back and rest them there as he looks back into the camera with a smirk on his face.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Now I know your all expecting me to sit around talking about why I will win and that I am much better then sheamus will ever be blah blah blah but it’s not going to happen because everyone already knows just how talented I am, everyone already knows just how truly great I am I don’t have to tell you all... But hell it feels awesome to tell you all so I’m going to tell you all anyway...
Brian chuckles for a few moments...
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. I’m just messing but it is true I am faster smarter and more cunning then sheamus but the reasons I will win are not really about me the reasons I will win is because of the faults sheamus has and those are as follows.. sheamus while he is the champ of the world and undefeated he never really one the title fair and square, he took the title from a guy that was about to retire anyway so what right does that give him to be the true champion huh? I’ll tell you NO DAMN RIGHT!! Sheamus is a fraud and a fake, he is nothing but a lapdog to the boss Vince McMahon and that is the only reason he is wearing that belt right now.. I mean what in hell has sheamus done to earn the world title? What he fought the biggest battle of his life against Justin Time the same Justin Time that I destroyed with pure ease, he beat Dominic Reynolds a fresh faced punk one week into the guy’s career at thy BIG DEAL...
Brian laughs for a few moments then continues to speak.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. You see while sheamus has been taking out nobody’s since he got that title I have been taking out the very best Thy Wwe had to offer and every match has been me destroying each and every opponent with pure ease because that’s just how damn good I am, the first week I returned to thy I promised each and every person around the world that I would win the World Title Tournament and go on to the royal Rumble as the number one contender and I have done just that, I shocked the world and more when a decimated each and every person that thought they could beat me... I proved without a shadow of a doubt that there is only one true unified world champion and that is yours truly...
Brian gets up from the sofa and wades through the rubbish on the floor over to his drinks cabinet then pours himself a new drink and then takes a sip of it before walking away back toward the back of the house again, once Brian reaches the outside once again he leans up against the hand rail running around the decking then looks into the camera with a smile on his face and begins once again to speak.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. You know I could go on all day about why I’m better then sheamus but the simple fact of the matter who would you want as your champion a smooth and sexy almighty, raw talent guy like me or the other dude that looks like the love child of Ronald McDonald and carrot top? I mean hell the guy is so pale aint he ever heard of sunlight in his life damn... the only reason sheamus continues to win is because he is so white when he sweats the shine off of him blinds his opponents...
Brian chuckles for a few moments...
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. I need to go off topic here and address someone that has been a thorn in my side since the day of my return... Yes I’m talking about that no good piece of trash that calls himself the king of kings because week after week he has persisted to push my buttons and trying to use my name for the punch line of everyone of his boring ass little jokes, well triple bitch I’m calling you out because once I’m done with the jolly white jackass sheamus your next on my list.. You my friend have signed your death warrant because for the next few weeks I’m going to make your life hell, I’m personally going to see to it that you become nothing more than a quivering bumbling mess! But the fact still remains that you are nothing but a blip on my radar right now Triple H because I do have bigger fish to fry and that fish currently stands between me and my crowning glory, that fish stands between me and destiny because it is my destiny to become the World Heavyweight Champion and main event WRESTLEMANIA!! Oh Yeah you know that’s what I’m taking about...
Brian smirks at the camera for a few moments then continues to speak.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. You see this is not about what I want it’s about what is written in stone... it’s about what is written in the pages of time and that is that when the smoke clears at Ascension Thy Wwe will have a new king to worship, Thy Wwe will have a new god to lay their eyes on when I take down the powerhouse known as sheamus and destroy his legacy and cement my own in the process. My time to shine is just on the horizon and its coming fast, the day is dawning on a new era and that is the era of THE WORLDS GREATEST... the man, the myth, the legend Brian Gunn will do battle against the unstoppable force, The Irish curse Sheamus this week and it will be one of the most biggest matches in sports entertainment.. This match is going to be bigger than the rumble, it’s going to be bigger than any match Thy Wwe has ever seen because this is the match when finally I reach my destiny and become not just a house hold name but a world renowned icon.
Brian pauses for a few moments as a seagull fly’s low over the deck and poops on a guy that is passed out on the floor causing Brian to burst out laughing for a minute or so, Brian then looks back into the camera and goes to speak but cant as he bursts out laughing again but finally Brian calms himself and begins to speak once more.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. When I become the world heavyweight champion I will have conquered mountain top and planted my flag in the rocks for all to see just like Neil Armstrong did when he became the first man on the moon or when Sir Edmund Percival Hillary over come all the odds and become the first man to reach the summit of mount Everest... so ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls all around the world make sure you tune into Thy Wwe Ascension this Sunday night and watch me take my place among history because I assure you it will be the most glorious moment of all time that you will be telling your grandchildren about...
Brian smiles into the camera in his normal cocky fashion then after a few moments Brian once again goes to speak but as he does he stumbles forward a few steps falling off his balance but then rights himself and shakes his head for a moment before going to speak again but as he does his legs buckle under him and he comes crashing to the floor, at first the camera man does nothing thinking it is just one of brians stunts as normal but then after a few moments of Brian not moving the camera man puts the camera down on the floor leaving only the view of Brian’s left leg twitching as he lays there unconscious. The camera man try’s to bring Brian round but then gives in after a few minutes and dials the emergency services on his phone and asks for an ambulance as the camera slowly fades leaving just a lasting shot of Brian lying on the ground clearly out cold...
~{$}~SCENE TWO~{$}~
With a flicker of static the scene comes into focus on a massive space filled with people standing along the walls with cloaks on with the hoods over their faces so they cannot be seen all of them are standing facing a massive podium surrounded in low flames, as the camera closes in on the podium itself there is a step of steps leading up onto it but as the camera moves up them the flames rise higher so the cloaked people become lost behind them and all that can be seen in the ring of fire is a man laying on the floor not moving and at the far end is a throne with none other than Brian Gunn sitting on it, but as the camera gets closer to Brian it becomes clear that his features are distorted. Brian’s face is sunken in and grey and the veins in his face are protruding through his skin then at that moment the man on the floor gives out a cry of pain as he starts to come round and lift himself to his feet then as the camera pans round to the other man shockingly it is another Brian Gunn but this one looks just like the normal Brian apart from a cut on his cheek that is dripping blood down his face and onto his bare chest, the real Brian wipes the blood from his cheek then looks up at the throne and sees his duplicate and as he does you see pure hatred fill in Brian’s eyes, the real Brian then moves toward the look alike but then drops to his knees in pain and as he does the other Brian who is sitting on the throne laughs evilly and the moment he does it becomes apparent it is the demon. As Brian is writhing in agony on the ground the demon continues to laugh evilly for a few moments then lifts himself out of his seat and slowly walks forward toward Brian then as he reaches him he stops and looks down on Brian with a evil grin on his face then stamps on Brian’s chest causing Brian to scream out in pain then starts to choke as he tries to catch his breath, the Demon then starts to walk around Brian for a few moments then walks back to his throne and sits down again and just looks down at Brian for a couple of seconds before finally speaking.
.:x:.Demon.:x:. Welcome to my world Brian did you think I would really allow you to go against sheamus and have the chance of you losing the fight and ruining what has been destined, did you think your deal would mean anything my master already has your soul Brian so why would you think you really had anything to trade with him... you are nothing you always have been nothing and if it wasn’t from me carrying you along your way you would still be in the slums getting beat in matches with nobody’s, I changed that for you and now you will leave your body and I will take full control and there is nothing you can do to...
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. NOOO!! You can’t do this we had a deal I have this match against sheamus and if I win I get my soul back, you can’t betray me you owe me...
The demon bursts into fits of evil laughter at Brian for a few moments then speaks once more.
.:x:.Demon.:x:. Do you think he would give you the time of day he has everything he wants and why would he risk you changing fate? Why would my master risk everything he has slowly worked for for over two thousand year’s, you think he would risk all that because you want your little soul back well think again because this Sunday the end of the world will come and the dark shadow of evil will rise and conquer ALL MANKIND!!
The demon sits on his throne laughing evilly as Brian tries to get to his feet but cant as he is in too much pain but then after a minute or two Brian finally forces himself to his knees then pushes with all his might and gets to his feet swaying slightly then looks into the eyes of the demon and once again pure hatred plasters his face as he begins to speak.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. The only way you will ever take control is if to kill me because I won’t allow it I will fight you all the way, I will not give in I refuse to give in and let you destroy everything... you took my life from me but I will not allow you to take my world, my fans or my family from me. So if you want control you better kill me now because otherwise you’re the one going DOWN!!
Brian rushes forward and goes to land a punch to the demons face but the demon just raises his hand and as he does Brian fly’s backward and crashes to the ground then as Brian rolls around the floor in pain the demon gets to his feet once more and walks slowly toward Brian then stops two foot from him and tilts his head to the side as he lets out a demonic laugh that booms through the place then begins to speak once more.
.:x:.Demon.:x:. You think I am stupid boy? You don’t think i know if i destroy you i still lose because without you continuing you exsist as much as i hate it but without you exsisting your body would be destroyed as well, so no i will not destroy you my plan for you is to lock you away down here like you locked me and keep you here for all eternity and let you suffer as you can only watch me destroy everything you hold dear...
The demon pauses for a few moments as Brian starts to drag himself back up again but just as he gets to his knees the demon lands a swift kick to Brian’s stomach causing Brian to roll back onto his back and slide across the floor with the force and as he does his back gets burnt on the flames causing him to scream out in pure agony, as Brian rolls round on agony the demon just stands there looking at his with his head tilted to the side but then after a few seconds the demons speaks once more.
.:x:.Demon.:x:. Stay down Brian and take your fate because this will only end badly for you because this is my land I rule all here, you are nothing but my puppet in here so just stay down and give in Brian... Make life easier on yourself and GIVE UP!!
Brian uses all his might to pull himself to his knees then lunges at the Demon but as he does smoke surrounds the demon then the moment it clears the demon is gone from sight all there is is just Brian on all fours looking around for a sign of the demon, at that moment a booming laugh from the demon is heard then as Brian gets to his feet and looks around for him the demon speaks all though he is nowhere to be seen.
.:x:.Demon.:x:. Goodbye Brian enjoy your time in this cage because you will never get free, when I destroy everything and take your wife for my own I will be sure to tell her you loved her dearly..
The demon lets out another booming evil laugh at the same time as Brian screams out in a rage then drops to his knees and bursts into tears as the scene fades to static.
~{$}~SCENE THREE~{$}~
With a flicker of static the scene comes into focus outside The Palace of Auburn Hills arena in Michigan as the camera pans around the arena a few times and you can hear the fans inside cheering then after a few moments the camera cuts to the inside of the arena at ringside then starts to pan around all the fans in the stands, as the camera pans around the stands the fans jump up to their feet and start waving homemade banners around and cheering for their favourite superstars and divas, then after a few moments all the lights in the arena go out and I Will Not Bow by Breaking Benjamin blasts through the arena at the same time and flames and smoke rise up on the stage and at ringside then after a few seconds Brian Gunn emerges on the stage wearing a pair of black trousers and black shoes with a black shirt and his trade mark long black leather coat, as Brian walks toward the ramp the fans greet him with a mixture of cheers and boos with the boos slightly out weighting the cheers. Brian then stops at the ramp way and laughs at all the fans as they continue to boo and cheer him then slowly Brian raises one of his hands toward the sky and as he does red and orange fireworks explode down the ramp way then back up to the top of the ramp way, then as Brian lowers his hand the fireworks stop then after a few moments Brian proceeds down the ramp slowly toward the ring just looking around him as the fans are shouting both positive and negative comments at him then as Brian reaches the bottom of the ramp he takes one look around the arena then walks over to the steel steps and starts to climb up them and gets on the ring apron, Brian walks along the apron for a moment then steps through the middle rope and into the ring then walks around the ring for a few moments just looking out at the fans cheering and booing then stops in the centre of the ring and raises both his arms in the air and as he does red a orange stars explode from the roof and fall slowly to the floor falling down on the fans and Brian himself then after a moment or two Brian walks over to the ropes by the announcer table and calls for a microphone which is quickly brought to him by one of the ring staff, as the ring staff member hands Brian the microphone Brian looks down at him causing the staff member to back away slowly in fear and as he does Brian turns round and walks back to the centre of the ring and looks out at the fans once more while they continue to cheer and boo then after a couple of seconds the fans begin to quiet down then as they do Brian lifts the microphone to his mouth and begins to speak.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Mortals all of you are filthy scum suckers but tonight you will all bow to your new king, tonight you will all witness the ascension of darkness... you will all witness the ascension of a new king of your world and you will all love and fear me and will bow like the good sheep you are or you will all face a eternity of damnation just like your current world champion sheamus, because tonight is the birth night of evil on earth tonight is the beginning of the end for all mankind.
Brian pauses for a moment as the crowd pipe up with cheers and boos again but then after a few moments they start to become silent once more and as they do Brian continues to speak.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Tonight I plan to bathe in the blood of sheamus after I rip his flesh from his still breathing but broken body and when I do I will relish in the fact that I am the end of the line for all comers, that when I lift that championship above my head it will signify to the world and to the locker room that their destruction is only a few feet away... when I lift the championship everyone will know that when they step in the ring with me they will be decimated that they will have no other future but that of a lifetime in a box..
Brian closes his eyes and licks his lips with a smile on his face as he thinks of bathing in sheamus’s blood and thinks of destroying everyone in thy wwe then after a few moments Brian finally opens his eyes again and as he does you can see the burning fury and sick passion to mame and destroy, Brian then lifts the microphone to his mouth once more and begins to speak again.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Once tonight is over every single human will know that my name if something to fear and will know not to cross my path but I know there will be the foolish ones who will try just like that poor excuse for a mortal that you all hold in high respects P.O.T, he crossed my path tonight and that will be a mistake he will soon come to regret... a mistake that he will pay for in due time and when I ascend upon him he will beg for mercy which he will not get and plead for his life and swear that he will never cross my path again but oh I will make sure he never does it again, just like sheamus I will make them both regret that they was even born... sheamus is my victim tonight but P.O.T he is the future just like all the rest that have dared to disrespect me...
Brian stops talking for a few moments as he starts to breath heavy as the fury and rage builds in him.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Sheamus you hold what is mine you hold the key to the worlds end and my master needs me to win and I shall not fail him, you sheamus will be sacrificed in the name of Legion and your championship will open the gateway for darkness tonight in this very arena because this is your destiny to fall to me and it is the world’s destiny to fall to the king of darkness and there is not a single thing anyone can do about it, you may think you will win because you have beaten the frail and weak Brian Gunn in the past but now you face LEGION!!! You will stand face to face with your destruction in a very short time and you will fall you will look unto me as your king and I will make you bow I will make you beg at my feet for your life, you think you can win but you have not a single chance because your god does not love you, your god does not love any of you in this world that is why I am free to walk this earth because he has turned his back on you, your god has lost all faith in you but I can promise you that if you bow to me and embrace the darkness that is in all of your heart, that my master will spare you as long as you stay true to him and worship him and me...
Brian looks around the arena as a mixture of cheers and boos once again booms through the arena from the crowd then as the crowd continue to get louder and louder Brian just laughs evilly and begins to pace back and forth for a few moments until he gets annoyed and stops in the centre of the ring and raises his right hand in the air then slams it downward causing four lightning bolts to hit the ring posts and flames to explode from them as the bolts hit and as they do the crowd falls silent due to fear, as they do Brian laughs for a few moments then raises the microphone to his mouth and speaks once more.
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. YOU ALL THINK THIS IS A GAME DO YOU? YOU ALL THINK THAT I AM MESSING AROUND OUT HERE WELL THINK AGAIN BECAUSE THE BEGINING OF THE END STARTS TONIGHT AND ANYONE THAT THINKS I AM JUST PLAYING WILL BURN IN THE PITS OF HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY!!! Sheamus you made a deal with Brian Gunn but your deal has been revoked since he is gone but I have a deal for you and it is a deal that you have no way to refuse and that is when I beat you I take your soul as well as your championship, and that boy is all you have to offer me and that is what I will take.. If you don’t like it then pray to your god for help not that it will matter because he is sitting up in the clouds looking down on your all and laughing at you, making a mockery of you all because each and every one of you are just a joke to him why do you think I am aloud here why do you think my master will ascend on you all after tonight? Yes because your god cares nothing for you all.... You say that you are a warrior, you say you are the Irish curse and that you cannot be defeated well it will be my pleasure to show you you are nothing but a weak and pathetic mortal that you are nothing more than brital flesh and bone, because tonight sheamus I plan to take you to the very gates of hell and leave you at the steps broken and lifeless, tonight you will meet your maker and be judged for your insolence and arrogance...
Brian stands there looking out at all the fans for a few moments with pure murderous fury in his eyes...
.:x:.Brian Gunn.:x:. Sheamus you want a war then I only have six words left to say to you...LET THE BATTLE OF WORLDS BEGIN!!!
Brian throws the microphone down on the ring mat then raises both his arms in the air and as he does all the lights in the arena go out causing the arena to plunge into total darkness then after a short while the lights flicker back on and as they do Brian has vanished and is nowhere to be seen in the arena as the camera pans round everywhere trying to catch a glimpse of him then after a few more moments the begin to fade out..

Part One: Reminisce[/b][/i][/u]
Sheamus: Is this fella serious? [/i] Sheamus stared on in disbelief, as he watched the most recent vignette of Brian Gunn. He chuckled to himself, utterly baffled at how delusional this man was. It really did not surprise the Celtic Warrior, however, he was used to hearing the same thing day in and day out. He was used to all of the naysayers, used to everyone showering him with doubt and ridicule. It all came with the territory, of being the champion. He knew he would have a huge target on his back, and everybody would be gunning for him, no pun intended. He also knew, that wrestling in America for the majority of his time, he would receive ignorant, judgmental attitudes because of his heritage, of where he was from. Prejudice was still very real in the States, and it appeared that hostile feelings were still present from when the Irish first came during the potato famine. But Sheamus had beat THAT subject to the death before, and decided to turn his thoughts from the matter.
He walked outside, and it was a beautiful day in Ireland. Clear skies, the sun shining brilliantly, the wind was a gentle, cool breeze. Spring was here, and the grass took on its emerald green luster, and the Celtic Warrior closed his eyes for a moment, finding peace and serenity in the beauty and comfort of his home. It was a great day to do battle, but alas, he would have to wait until the Royal Rumble for true combat. Ah, the Royal Rumble, Sheamus remembered competing it Thy WWE's 30 man spectacular last year. He had come up just short, being the runner up to the Undertaker. Back then, he was a superstar on the rise, he had been the first double champion in history, had unified the Intercontinental and United States Championships, and created the Celtic title. Ah, how far he had come.....
Many men fell to Sheamus back then, and things hadn't changed in that regard. He was not as dominant, however, but his winning ways had not changed. He looked fondly back at those days, as they were an enjoyable time in his life, now he felt the pressure more keenly than ever, holding the richest prize the business had to offer. Sheamus laid down on the lush, green grass, and stared up at the sky, straight into the heavens, proceeding to delve into a monologue.[/b]
Sheamus: Ah, those were the days. I remember facing the returning Brian Gunn.....He was highly regarded, as a great, former, Intercontinental Champion. His feud with Triple H was considered at the time, one of the most heated and competitive Thy Dolbya Dolbya Eee had ever seen. Lets see, let me think back...Yes, his debut here....winning a battle Royal to win the number one contender ship for that title. You proceeding to win in a handicap match after your tag partner no showed, and got the best of the Game. You went on to capture his belt, and defended it in a brutal first blood match. You showed quite a bit of heart, as I've watched your matches, multiple times, trying to get a feel for your style. You continued on undefeated, the world bowing at your feet, as "The World's Greatest", you called yourself.
You defeated him again, and even the great Chris Jericho, a former champion here. You were on a roll, simply unstoppable, and you were coming up the ranks fast, with a chance at becoming the Intercontinental, AND the World Champion. You had everything, you controlled your destiny, you simple had to take that one step further....and then you faltered. You lost your championship to the Cerebral Assassin. No big deal, a warrior cannot win every battle. Instead of refocusing yourself, you simple gave up. You were utterly destroyed by Mike Knox, I man I defeated without a sweat in my second match here. The following week, you lost again in a matter of mere minutes. You then left, you quit, devastated, unable to mentally and emotionally pull yourself out of that rut. Shortly after, I made my debut here.
I had captured two titles, and unified them, and then you made your big return. The world was talking, simply buzzing about "The World's Greatest" coming back. You showed up at the Royal Rumble, where I successfully defended my championship, and came up second in the Rumble match itself. You came at me with a chair, but you did not pull the trigger. This led to an eventual match, and tell me Gunn, what happened? [/i]
Sheamus closed his eyes for a moment, remembering the scene as if it was yesterday....July 5th, 2010. Madison Square Garden, New York City.....Monday Night Raw 19. [/b] JR: ”This man is just phenomenal. I mean come on, back in the WWE we won the championship by putting John Cena through a table. And he was undefeated after words and before that match. This man is one of the greatest superstars I have ever seen.”
Jerry “The King” Lawler: “I have to disagree with you JR. I mean yeah he won the Intercontinental championship here in Thy WWE. But still he hasn't had a chance at the big one here, nor won it. To prove to me that he is a tough cat he has to go up against a champion.”
“Weighing in at 240 pounds! Please welcome back! Brain Gunn!”
Sheamus: Oh how they cheered, and screamed your name. You looked so happy to be back, you were absolutely fired up. [/i] Sheamus replayed the match in his mind. Brian Gunn came out like a raging bull. Sheamus raised his title into the air, smirking at the challenger. Before the bell could sound, Sheamus clearly remembered the smirk being wiped off his face via hard right hands. He fell, and got right back up. He ducked a clothesline, and hit the Brogue Kick, but it was too early, and Brian kicked out at two. Possessing great presence of mind, Brian Gunn rolled him up in an attempt to get a surprise win, but Sheamus kicked out, and Brian Gunn rolled out of the ring. [/b]
Jerry “The King” Lawler: “How is Brain Gunn still standing? He suffered a painful Brogue Kick from Sheamus!”
JR: “It’s the heart of a real champion King! That’s what I respect about Gunn! That how much the title means to him!” [/i]
The next few moments were a blur to the Celtic Warrior, as Gunn dazzled him with a flurry of high risk and quick maneuvers. He remembered watching him fly at him, and Sheamus tumbled around the ring, becoming dizzy and disoriented as he was hit with move after move. The next thing he knew, he was jarred back into reality when his skull met the announcer's table. Sheamus simply returned the favor. Sheamus slid into the ring, and Gunn followed, and he caught Brian with a suplex that shook the ring. Sheamus used a headlock take down, and Brian had wrapped his legs around his neck to free myself. They both got up, and Sheamus leveled him with a clothesline. Sheamus knew then that his window of opportunity had opened, and measured his next strike carefully. Brian Gunn rose to his feet, and Sheamus nailed a Brogue Kick with all of the force he could muster. One....two......three. The bell rang loudly, and Sheamus' theme music was played over the sound system. [/b] Ring Announcer: Here is your winner, and STILL Celtic Champion.......SHHEEEAAAMMMUUUSSSSSS!! [/i] It was at that moment that Sheamus very distinctively remembered something. [/b] Jim Ross: Well he did it! The Celtic Champion retained his title.
The King: Ha, Welcome Home Brian Gunn!
Jim Ross: That was a really good back and forth match and Sheamus got lucky!
The King: Lucky JR?
Jim Ross: Yeah, I am sure Brian Gunn will be back sooner or later and when these two fight again, Sheamus will not be walking out as the winner.
The King: Maybe, but for now Sheamus walks away the winner. [/i] Sheamus chuckles at the thought. This match has been in the making for awhile, and Jim Ross foretold of it. He was wrong however. The second time would not yield a different result. Jim Ross was right, however, in the assessment that Sheamus was "phenomenal", as he put it. Everybody knew the potential of Sheamus, and he was just beginning to realize that potential. Sheamus sat up to a sitting position, and then get up to his feet, and stretched out his limbs. [/b]
Sheamus: I wonder what you are doing right now, Gunn. I do hope you are preparing for our match up this Sunday. As much as I believe I am superior, I still respect you Brian. I respect your abilities as an in ring performer, and you gave me one hell of a match last time we faced. Of course, this is a different time, and it has been quite a few months. I've been watching you, as eventually I knew we would do battle once more. You are trying to recapture what you had in your prime, that fiery spark of youth. You won your first world title at the age of nineteen, an impressive feat even I have not accomplished. You have held many world titles in your career, with different companies. I've been doing my research, and I believe the number to be more than ten. Thy Dolbya Dolyba Eee, however, is your last stop, before you retire. You've been in the business for years, and you are at the point where you may consider hanging up the boots. You want to make your final stand here, to go out in a blaze of glory, one more run as the champion before you call it quits.
We have both gone similar routes in our careers here in Thy. You won a title, held it for awhile, and lost it, and disappeared. Now you are returning to challenge for the World Title. My story is a parallel in many ways. It seems as if the roles are reversed. The difference between you and me? I've noticed a pattern. You do well, you are in the driver's seat ready to take this business by the balls, and then you falter. Are you simply afraid of success, Brian? Are you afraid of the pressure that comes with taking that next step up, to the top of the mountain? Are you afraid that you don't have it anymore? If so, you are holding yourself back from success. I believe this to be the case. Sometimes in life, you have to take that chance, that risk, that blind leap of faith, to cross the figurative ravine of life, to get to your destination.
Now I was watching your interview earlier, and I was mildly entertained by the hilarity of your comments. Yes, go ahead and poke fun at my skin tone, my heritage, I've heard it all, its not very original. Something you did say caught my attention though. Luck is in my side, as if I possess the luck of the Irish. That, my friend, is a myth. I believe that luck is not the same concept as is general consensus. What I firmly feel, is that luck is not a matter of fate just randomly throwing favors and boons people's way. No, luck is the result of a warrior following the correct course of action. Events and circumstances just fall into place if the right route is taken, it is a result of something you do. It is not some mystical power that aids people. If you believe that, you are truly delusional.
You want to talk about how I was "fortunate" that I got the win over Justin Time. No, I hit the Brogue Kick at the precisely correct moment, giving my body the momentum to turn and land on top of the man, it was a matter of an aimed strike. I am in full control of my body, and I measure each attack carefully, which is simply what makes me a brilliant strategist. I saw it coming, and I am always two or three steps ahead of my opponents. Call it bull shite if you wish, but I know the truth, and that is all that matters.
You want to go around making false claims, that you are "hungrier" than I am. That may be true in some regards, I have noticed your love handles growing a bit since your return. But I digress, let us address this issue of "hunger", of the will to win. I was born and bred as a warrior, battle and combat are simply in my blood, it courses through my veins, it is my destiny. To be a warrior, to honor the spirits of my fallen ancestors who died in battle. I have repeated this time and time again. I strive to be the best at my craft, to be the greatest warrior walking the Earth. Why? Not simply because I can, but because I must. My life has one purpose, battle. Not just battle, but becoming a legend, carving my legacy into the very foundations of the earth. To earn my place among the Warrior's hall, at the head of the table, in the heavens, standing above all my ancestors, being recognized as the greatest among them.
You cannot know the passions and desire I have to be the best, but when we fight this Sunday at the Royal Rumble, Brian, you will catch a glimpse of the fires in my eyes, the flame that has been ignited that cannot be snuffed out by all the oceans of the world. I live and breathe this business, and nobody is more dedicated, or passionate about it. I don't think anyone works as hard as I do, to improve, to get better, every single day. When I am not physically training, I am mentally training my mind. Studying war, battles, the tactics used by the greats, I find ways to make them better. All of the losses of the wars of the world, I find out why, and what they could have done to correct the situation. I am constantly keeping myself at a very fine edge, as one uses a whetstone to keep their blade sharp, so it may drink the blood of their enemies.
You want to go ahead and call me lazy, since becoming champion? I have won every single match, and you cannot dispute that fact. You see Brian, it doesn't matter how you win, it doesn't matter if you win lets say, a race, by one foot or one mile, a win is a win. You have had your share of close matches, you won the tournament to become the number one contender, which I was very impressed upon seeing. You are a worthy opponent to challenge for my belt. You have improved greatly since the last time we squared off, but so have I. For all of the evolving and betterment you have done for yourself, I, if nothing else, have at least matched it. Even if we have equally improved, that still puts me right above you. [/i] Sheamus flashes a smirk towards the camera, and the scene fades. Part Two: Desire[/b][/i][/u]
Sheamus was troubled once again by his dreams. Tossing and turning in his sleep, it was a restless night. He was atop the mountain, the peak, the pinnacle. He looked down, to see the mountain swarming with ascending men, all coming for him, to take his spot, the warmth against the bitter cold. A strong gust of wind blew him from his perch, and he tumbled far down the mountain, his body taking the beating, bones snapping. He looked back up atop the cliff, to see Brian Gunn standing atop it, taunting him, mocking him. He growled and screamed out in defiance. The mountainside was harsh, but up there, it was warm, comfortable, with everything he could ever want. It was what defined him, being above everyone else. If only he could have fought him off, kicked at his clawing fingers as they reached the peak. He had fallen, and failed to retain his position.
Somewhere in the far reaches of the world, Sheamus was struggling. It was a clear sky, and the wind was blowing its bitter cold chill, biting him to the bone. A great mountain range, with nearly vertical inclines at some points. His lips were blue, and his breath coming out a misty fog in the icy weather.
He looked to his left, to his right, below him, and above him. There were many people ascending the mountain, all striving to reach the top, to realize the ultimate Ascension. He was back where he started, at the very beginning. He felt weary and hopeless, the blackness of the void swirling about his vision, tempting him to give into the peaceful quiet, the sweet embrace of death.[/b]
Sheamus: NO!! [/i] Once again Sheamus screamed out in denial of it all. That was his spot, that he had rightfully earned. It was not fair, it was not right. It belonged to him, and by hell or high water, he would hold onto it, and it would not even be pried from his cold, dead hands. Sheamus growled, and pushed forward, pushed onward, climbing with all his strength. The sharp rocks cut his hands, as the warm blood poured from them along his arms, he kept climbing. He kept his eyes up at his goal, the top. Putting one hand over the other, his massive, muscled legs pumping with each step up. A man from the side pushed against him, and he almost fell, holding on with one hand. He gritted his teeth, willing himself upwards, grabbing the man by the leg and ripping him down to tumble down the incline.
His heart pumped with adrenaline, and his breaths came in painful, labored gasps, as the cold air bit his lungs. Despite the cold, the man began to sweat profusely, the drops of perspiration freezing and forming crystals on his forehead and body. All along the way, he heard the taunts and calls. [/b] Brian Gunn: You can't do it! Give up now, your time is OVER! [/i] Sheamus was spurred on, his heart racing faster, beating hard against the inside of his chest. Negativity towards him, and nay saying, only strengthened his resolve, wanting to prove him, and every one else wrong. With renewed strength and spirit, he continued to climb, throwing men out of his way as he ascended. To reach the top, one must put others down, and throw them out of the way. It was the nature of success, one could not succeed without causing others to fail. Everyone else be damned.
He approached the peak, his goal in sight. As one reached the top, the winds blew harder, the air was colder, thinner, threatening to steal the air from the lungs. Sheamus ignored the discomfort, knowing that once he reached the top, it would all change. His hands gripped the edge, and the hard boots of Gunn stomped on his fingers, and he lost his grip. He skidded down, his chest facing the mountain side, the sharp jutting rocks ripping his flesh, and he winced in pain, his vision swimming. A whisper was carried on the wind, from perhaps the gods themselves. [/b]
"The Celtic Warrior....is this what you are destined for? To fail, to come up just short of the victory. A disgrace that would be, a disgrace YOU would be...to fail your bloodline...." [/i] In a moment of weakness, Sheamus almost just let himself go, to plunge straight down, to his death. He shook his head, no, he could not. That is what this was, a matter of life or death for him. For if he could not reach the top, he would be a failure, a wasted life. He would throw away all of his hard work, for nothing, and be forgotten to the world. No, his name would live on. Sheamus again reached the peak, and he hurled himself over the edge, to the top, to be met with stomps to the back from the man who wanted to take everything away from him, everything that he viewed as important, the very things that made him who he was. He weathered the storm, and worked his way to his feet. He was nailed with a hard right shot, and he staggered backwards, teetering over the edge. He regained his balance, and came forward with a might kick, but his enemy dodged, and again he almost fell over the other side. His enemy charged him, but he dropped to the ground, and Brian Gunn met nothing but air. With a great push, Sheamus sent his enemy plunging to his death. He laid down upon the top of the mountain, completely spent, but content, and knew that this place was his, and nobody else's. [/b]
Sheamus awoke, wiping beads of sweat from his face. Once again, a strange dream to contemplate. His dreams always held meaning towards his life, it was his mind's way of resolving issues, and of helping him realize things. He immediately recognized the dream for what it was, and the symbolism contained therein. [/b]
Sheamus: It is all quite obvious, isn't it? The mountain represents what I do for a living, my battlefield, Thy Dolbya Dolbya Eee. The peak, the championship belt I hold. The other men, the competitors all striving for one thing. There may be other titles to hold, but ultimately, anyone who means anything in this business, strives to the ultimate prize, MY title, the top of the mountain. The dream was a warning to me, to not be distracted by the pressures and challenges that come with being the champion. If I let myself become distracted, Brian Gunn will come right under my nose and steal what I hold most dear. I cannot, and will not, let that happen. Perhaps I do need to reassert myself, and not just be content with what I have. I realize what I have went through, what I have accomplished, to attain such a thing, and it would be foolish to become so complacent as to let anyone even NEAR the top.
I must put down any and all challengers, before they even get close. I need to reestablish myself, and my name, and let everyone know in no uncertain terms that I am the top guy here, and I need to show by my actions. Leaders lead by example, and I have to make an example out of Brian Gunn. As he reaches for the top, I will be the one to crush his reaching, greedy fingers, and send him back to the bottom. The back of the line of contenders. To not do any of this, would be a great disrespect to all that came before me, all of my ancestors, the Gaelic gods and goddesses of war, and all me kin. I will do this, for all of them, and for myself.
A champion naturally faces adversity and opposition. In life, everyone does. It is not about the failures or the troubles you go through, what defines a man, what defines a warrior, is how you handle them. To not break under the pressure, to take everything thrown your way, and keep on fighting. Many people desire what I have, this world championship, but they do not know what it means to me. They do not now it is who I am, what defines me. Being the best at what I do, for if one does not strive to be the very best at their craft, then they are in the wrong business.
At the Royal Rumble, Brian Gunn will see, and feel, the heart of a true warrior, the desire and passions of the Celtic Warrior. I am Sheamus, the strategist, the tactician, the warrior, the very best in the world....the true "World's Greatest"...... Part Three: Victory[/b][/i][/u]
Thy WWE Presents: Ascension April 17th 2011 The Palace of Auburn Hills Auburn Hills, Michigan[/b]
Todd Grisham: Sheamus, thank you for meeting me before your big title defense here tonight. Do you have any thoughts leading into this match against Brian Gunn? Did you hear what he had to say earlier?
Sheamus: It looks like once again, Brian Gunn has gone off his rocker. We had made a deal the past week, depending on the winner of tonight's match. I won't go into it, but he has gone back on his word. You know, I had a measure of respect for Brian, but a man who goes back on his word holds no honor. I suppose I can't expect more from him He is completely insane, an absolute lunatic. He somehow things he is some immortal demon, I mean, come on fella. Are you serious? Tonight apparently, I'm going to face eternal damnation, and have my soul stolen. If you want to revert back to adolescence, and play make believe, go ahead. Apparently tonight the fate of the world rests on me, to save mankind from utter destruction. I never considered myself a hero, except to me own kin. I'll be doing a the world a favor then by wiping the mat with this demon.
I've faced many demons before, in my dreams, and personal demons. I have never met one I could not overcome, through sheer willpower, spirit, and determination. Whether you are Brian Gunn, or a demon possessing him, it does not matter. You are just another opponent that will fall to me blade. Honestly I just think this is a desperate plea for attention, and I don't find it amusing. I know tonight you will take me to the limit, and perhaps even beyond, but I will endure and overcome.
Something he said, or referred to rather, was that tonight I face Legion. Is that some kind of ridiculous reference to that movie? If it is, then I suggest you get some new material, because nobody is buying it. Something else I remember, is that in a previous interview, he said that he was faster, more cunning, and more intelligent than me. Why does everyone think that Todd? No, don't answer that. While you may have a speed advantage, I will compensate by using anticipation, seeing this match as I do a game of chess, always a few moves ahead. I guarantee that I have the edge of cunning. You, on one hand, are a raving psychopath, while I possess the cunning of a brilliant general. Think Julius Cesar, Alexander the Great, Sun Tzu. You have not spent a minute in your life, I am willing to bet, studying the arts of war fella.
Make all of the outlandish claims that you want, that you will rip my flesh, take my soul, take my championship, but anything you say at this point is all just smoke and mirrors.
Todd Grisham: Well, tonight thirty men will enter the ring, and only one will stand at the end, to face Thy WWE World Champion at Wrestlemania, thoughts?
Sheamus: Thoughts? Todd, I should ask you why I care. Listen, I'll deal with that AFTER my match here tonight. I am focused on my opponent, and my match, nothing else, now if you will excuse me, I have to get ready for my title defense.
Todd Grisham: Thank you for your time Sheamus- [/i] At this point, Sheamus had already started heading to his locker room to prepare for this match. [/b] ---------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------
Part Four: Show Time[/b][/i][/u]
Sheamus felt the pressure. The nervous feeling of butterflies floating around in his stomach, as if gravity itself had been temporarily lifted, then suddenly reverted sending Sheamus plunging back to reality.
Courage was defined by facing your fears, doubts, and fighting hard against them, going against your feelings. Fear was a natural emotion, and did not make one a coward. What made one a coward was giving into those emotions. Such things imprisoned men, binding them, holding them back. One must break free of those chains, free themselves from their own self imposed prison. Sheamus was not afraid of his opponents, or any man, the thing he feared the most was failure. Failure to live up to the expectations of his kin, to live up to the name of his ancestors. Failure to meet his own expectations, to not fulfill his dreams. That is what he feared the most. [/b] Sheamus: The next step in the journey is upon you Sheamus. You cannot falter here, you cannot fail. Pull yourself together, you have beaten him before, and you shall do so again. [/i] Sheamus inhaled deeply, drawing a long breath, then slowly exhaling, letting it out. He repeated this a few times, to steady his nerves. Long ago Sheamus had learned mastery over his feelings. One could not prevent such thoughts and emotions, but they could temper them, channel them into something more productive. When they came around, he had taught himself to call upon himself, and the spirits of his ancestors, to overcome the adversities.[/b]
Sheamus: Ancestors hear my pleas, to grant me the strength to overcome my enemy. Grant me the clarity of mind, to see when to strike, the wisdom of when to retreat. Grant me the strength and power to thrust my sword hard and true. Grant me the endurance to withstand all that is unleashed upon me. Grant me the glory of victory, so that I may honor the fallen warriors of my bloodline.[/i]
Sheamus closed his eyes for a couple of minutes, focusing his mind on Brian Gunn. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, a faint echo in the back of Sheamus' mind in his trance like state. His eyes slowly fluttered open. [/b] "Sheamus, it is time." [/i] Sheamus acknowledged the man with a nod of his head, and he stood up. His vision had shifted, was sharper, and his every movement was fluid. He grabbed his championship belt, and strapped it around his waist. Every motion, every movement, to his eyes had slowed down. He was focused, his ancestors, gods, and goddesses of war hearing his call, and granting him their boon. He strode down the hallway, and off to the staging area. Sheamus had no doubt in his mind that there could be nobody walking the Earth that was, or had ever been, more focused in their life.
A burst of pure adrenaline spread through the Celtic Warrior's veins, and he pushed the curtains aside, rushing through. He stood at the top of the stage, the protests of the audience a feeble whisper in the back of his mind. He spread his arms out to his sides, letting the spirits he held so much faith in fill the very essence of his being, and continued down the ramp. He smiled, content, and happy of his situation, he was approaching the very calling of his life. Battle was what made the man who he was, it was what he was born to do. He entered the ring, his battlefield, and awaited the glorious battle that was to come, and the Celtic Warrior would once again prevail.[/b]
