MONDAY NIGHT RAW
After the pyros and the opening montage video plays we see a quick pan around the beautiful MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fans carrying signs showing their love for their favorite superstars can be seen as the shot goes in close on the familiar, usual voices of Raw in Jim Ross and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.
JR: Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to Monday Night Raw, as always I am Jim Ross joined by my longtime broadcast colleague in Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.
The King: Ross I can’t wait to see what happens tonight.
JR goes to answer him, but is immediately cut off by the entrance music of Jonny ‘The Rockstar’ Freeman coming on over the arena sound system. The fans break into a loud chorus of boos and negative chants as they see one half of the Thy WWE Tag Team Champions walk out onto the top of the stage. Something appears to be on Jonny’s mind, as he looks to be in a very foul mood as he smacks the tag title slung over his shoulder before walking down the ramp and sliding inside the ring. Taking a moment to pause and look around at the fans who are still booing him relentlessly causes Jonny to get a small grin on his face as he asks for a microphone and is handed one from the ringside guy. Speaking over the crowd as Jonny’s music stops, we are curious to hear what he has to say.
Jonny Freeman: Starr, let me ask you something pal. What was it you were hoping to accomplish with that little bit of angsty drama we just saw from you. Last time I checked Starr, this was not MTV’s Real World—this isn’t The Hills…do I look like that arrogant blowhard Spencer Pratt? Do I Starr? I tried to do you a favor…a professional courtesy if you will…to open your eyes to the imminent threat that calls himself your “partner”. Old Man Walker has had it out for you for years Starr…honestly…it baffles me that a man as intelligent as you are can be so naïve to it. You can try all you like to cause turmoil within the team Raven and I have…but when all is said and done…we are still the Tag Team Champions…while you and old man Walker…aren’t…and come Wrestlemania Starr…that is not going to change.
Jonny drops the mic as his music comes on over the speakers once more…exiting the ring to the resuming boos from the crowd we can now see JR and The King once more.
JR: I saw that taped segment King…Austin was simply giving the champions a taste of their own medicine…if you see it…he actually does make a lot of sense…
The King: These two teams seem to be playing some kind of mental chess game Ross…question is…who will get that final checkmate and walk out of Wrestlemania with the Tag Team titles around their waists.
JR: Right now it could go either way King…it could really go either way…

Match 1: Christian vs. John Sturking
As we return from the commercial break…we can already hear the music of Christian finishing up and we see him in the ring stretching and getting ready for his match at hand. We’ve seen him and John Sturking go back and forth with each other a lot over the past couple days, so this meeting between these two men should be entertaining. The music of John Sturking then comes on over the arena speakers and we hear some fans cheer as they see John come out onto the stage and do a finger point, gesturing towards the whole arena. Stopping at Christian, we see John break into a trot as he goes down the ramp and gets inside of the ring. Once inside he tells the referee he’s ready, and the official asks the two of them if they know and understand the rules. Both men nod and he orders the bell to be rung and this match is underway, immediately we see Christian charge towards John, but he is able to sidestep and already is trying to lock Christian into an STF submission hold. Not able to lock it completely in though, we see Christian pull himself to the ropes and John is forced to let go of the hold. John then gets back to his feet, as does Christian moments later and the two of them stare at each other for a moment before engaging in a collar and elbow tie up in the center of the ring. They push each other around, both men trying to jockey the other and get control—until finally we see Christian knee John in the gut and then hit him with a right hand which staggers him backwards.
JR: John almost had the submission win there King.
King: You should have known that it couldn’t end that fast Ross.
In the ring, we see Christian continue to sting John with right hands all the way back into the corner. Right hands turn into knife edge chops, and chops turn into stomps until we see John slumped down on the mat and the referee pushes himself in the middle so he can check on John. Christian goes back in the center of the ring and once again waits patiently as the referee asks John if he is ok. John shakes his head yes and pulls himself back up to his feet. We can see Christian grinning towards John and waving for him to come again. This bit of cockiness seems to bring new life into John who walks out of the corner, fakes like he is going to hit a clothesline, but instead kicks Chrstian in the stomach and follows up with a vertical suplex. John then drops down and goes for the first pinfall in the match…we see the referee go down and administer the count—1…2…NO! Christian kicks out and John immediately pulls him to his feet. We see John hook him and go for another suplex, but Christian is able to counter and get behind John like he wants to hit a German Suplex. With his hands clenched around John’s midsection, we see Christian pull back, but John is able to counter and get behind Christian. John then uses his strength and lifts Christian up and slams him down onto the mat with a front face lock. John clinches in the hold and begins to rest as the official drops down and ensures that John is keeping the hold applied legitimately.
JR: Quite the little technical display that we’re seeing here King.
King: I’m liking the way this match is going so far Ross.
John isn’t able to have the hold in for long though as Christian is able to reverse it and he now is on top of John, cinching in a front face lock. Using his impressive strength however, we see John start to power up. Christian tries to flip around and turn the front face lock into a sleeper, in hopes of bringing John back down. He gets the move cinched in, but it doesn’t stop John from powering back up to his knees. We see John, red faced and obviously sputtering as he is able to will himself back to his feet. Christian however, is still cinched in tight on his back. We now see John use what very well might be the last burst of leg strength he has to send himself backwards, making Christian smash into the corner turnbuckle back first. The impact is enough to make Christian break the hold as he is now down on the mat holding his back while John leans on a nearby rope to try and catch his breath from almost getting choked out. Christian then gets up and grabs John, but John, out of instinct throws a right hand which rocks Christian back. Christian comes again and John hits him with another right hand, followed by another before bouncing back off the ropes and dropping Christian to the mat with a flying shoulder tackle. Getting a second wind now, we can see John pick Christian up and get him up in position for a belly to back suplex. But instead he spins Christian around in front and slams him down on to the mat. Sensing the end being near, he looks around at the fans who are now on their feet cheering and calls for the Attitude Adjustment. Waiting for Christian to get up, he kicks him when he does and lifts him up on his shoulders for the Attitude Adjustment. However, in an impressive counter we can see Christian wriggle out…dropping down and reversing John into position for the Killswitch. This time though, it’s John’s turn to show a smooth counter as he reverses the move and once again gets Christian in position for the Attitude Adjustment. Not taking a second to hesitate, he finishes the move and Christian hits the mat with a loud thud. Lying still on the mat, we quickly see John drop down and hook the leg. The referee slides and makes the count—1…2…3! John Sturking has won this back and forth match.
JR: Impressive back and forth display that we just saw from Christian and John Sturking here King.
King: I want them to do it again.
The fans cheer for John’s win, and as he celebrates in the ring—he decides to help Christian up to his feet. Odd to see a display of sportsmanship like this, but a welcomed site nonetheless…once Christian gets back to his feet he ignores the handshake offer from John and instead asks for a microphone to be given to him from the ringside guy. We can hear Christian obviously breathing heavily as he begins to speak.
Christian: I almost had you John…man…you and I just tore the house down and it was just that one move…that one momentary shift of momentum that gave you the win. I say we do it again John…how about you and me rock the house one more time…in twelve days at Wrestlemania…Christian vs. John Sturking one more time…what do you say John?
We see John nod quickly in approval and the two man shake hands as the crowd cheers since they will get to see these two great men clash one more time in twelve days at Wrestlemania…the show just got that much more interesting now folks.
Winner: John Sturking in 10:10 via Attitude Adjustment
JR: Rematch King..at Wrestlemania…I can’t believe it.
The King: True sportsmanship…competitive respect being shown from Christian and John. Wrestlemania is gonna be a great bout between these two.
The show then goes to a commercial break as we see John and Christian talking to each other, with each man vowing to get victory over the other.

Match 2: Dan Hellman vs. Mark Greenberg
JR: Up next King, we got Mark Greenberg, who seems to have finally found himself as of late as he takes on Dan Hellman…a man who I think could do so much more here in Thy WWE King…but he seems to be content where he is at.
King: I know what you mean Ross…Dan has potential…but he chooses not to utilize it…really a shame…
We see Dan Hellman first make his way out onto the entrance ramp to little reaction from the fans in attendance. Not fazed by this lack of love from the crowd in attendance, Dan makes his way down to ringside and gets inside of the ring. After cracking his neck and stretching, he looks towards the entrance way as his music ends and we hear the theme song of Mark Greenberg kick on. Just moments later, Mark makes his way on top of the stage and doesn’t hesitate as he immediately walks down the ring…but he stops halfway down as the fans begin to boo and the eyes in the arena all turn towards the crowd behind JR and The King.
JR: What’s going on King?
The King: He’s not supposed to be here Ross…he’s not booked tonight.
We see Maven making his way through the crowd and he hops over the rail at ringside. The fans are booing Maven, who really hasn’t been seen or heard from since the General Manager dropped his huge announcement about the vacancy of the Thy WWE Championship until someone on the roster steps up to ‘impress him’. A ringside security member tries to stop Maven, but he is promptly hit with a stiff right hand. In the ring Dan Hellman is looking perplexed at Maven while Mark Greenberg is on the ramp looking on as well. Maven then slides in the ring, hops up on the top rope and raises his arms in the air to more boos from the crowd before jumping down. Keeping his back turned towards Dan Hellman and Mark Greenberg, we are still wondering why he is here. Perhaps taking the matter of finding out why onto himself, we see Dan Hellman walk up to Maven and grab him by the shoulder. But then Maven turns, slings his sunglasses to the mat, and fires off three rapid fire right hands to Hellman before kicking him and hitting the M-Plosion. Dan lands still on the mat and Maven kicks him out of the ring. Maven then looks at Mark Greenberg who is still looking on from the ramp, staring Mark down…we see him wave his hands dismissively and turn around to walk back up the ramp. Perhaps he is running away to fight another day? Or maybe he is just being smart altogether; either way…Maven now has the entire ring to himself.
Winner: No Contest
JR: King, I haven’t seen this level of aggression from Maven in a long time.
King: He’s getting a microphone Ross, let’s hear what he has to say.
After being handed a microphone Maven is looking around aggressively all over the arena.
Maven: Is this what you wanted to see GM? You really think you could just come in…flex your authority and take away my World Championship…make it so there is no World Champion at all until you feel like somebody’s impressed you. Well do I have your attention now Mr. General Manager, how do you like me coming out here unannounced and interrupting one of your matches. Well here’s a little newsflash for you pal…consider this the beginning…the beginning of Maven’s sweet retribution…and do you want to know how it’s going to end; let me tell you…it’s going to end with you having no choice other than to return what is rightfully mine and once again recognize me as the true and only champion here in Thy WWE.
Maven goes to continue, but the music of Bobby Lashley comes on over the arena speakers and the attention shifts to the entrance way as we see Bobby Lashley and Krystal Marshall make their way out to the top of the stage. We see that Krystal has a microphone in her hand, perhaps we’re going to hear her speak as well. Bobby and Krystal make their way down all the way to ringside and stop. Bobby and Maven lock eyes with each other and Maven shows no fear as Krystal is smiling as she lifts the microphone to her mouth and begins to speak.
Krystal Marshall: Maven, Maven, Maven…are you stupid or something. Do you really think anybody cares about you? Do you really think any of these people want to see you have anything to do with any World Championship? No Maven, they want to see fresh faces…new blood in the hunt. Like my Bobby Lashley…Maven do you realize that every single opponent that has been put in front of Bobby…he has demolished…Xavier Oden…Cactus Jack…he simply just can’t be stopped. Do you get the hint yet Maven? Let me make it real simple for you, why don’t you go ahead and get out of the ring before Bobby adds you to that list. Why don’t you get out of the ring so Bobby can show to the General Manager why he deserves to call himself the World Champion here in Thy WWE.
Maven: Well toots…talk is cheap…much like your boob job…so Bobby…you think you deserve greatness…well you’re looking at it…so if you got the guts…come in here and take it from me…
JR: Hell yea King…
The fans cheer for the potential brawl about to unfold as we see Bobby get an excited look on his face and nod as he hops on the ramp and gets inside of the ring. Bobby steps face to face with Maven and just as the two men come to blows we hear the voice of the General Manager pipe in over the arena speakers which causes both of them to stop and listen.
General Manager: Just a minute gentleman, just a minute. First off Maven…I’m not too sure what kind of delusional anti-authority quest you think you’re in…but did you ever think for a moment that maybe what I said two weeks ago on Raw was just what you needed to hear. Think about it Maven…tonight was the first time in ages that I’ve seen or even heard of you showing any kind of heart or aggression…two things you need to have as a World Champion…perhaps…just maybe Maven…I may have been wrong about you…but I’m not impressed yet. As for you Bobby Lashley…I’ve been watching the path of dominance you’ve carved over the past several weeks…I certainly am impressed…and the proclamation you’ve made tonight…asserting what you want…vowing to take it…you are definitely on the right path Bobby…but you aren’t there yet. But perhaps next week Bobby…you can take a step in the right direction…when you face….Maven…one on one.
Fans in the arena cheer at this announcement as the General Manager continues.
General Manager: Maven…you’ll get your chance next week…but for now…get out of my ring…or I will have you removed.
Nodding slowly at Bobby and looking around the arena…we see Maven decide to comply as he exits the ring and pushes by Krystal as he walks up the ramp. Once Maven is disappeared behind the curtain, we see Bobby move around to stay warmed up.
Match 3: Bobby Lashley vs. Cactus Jack
(Street Fight)
Apparently though the General Manager isn’t finished though as he once again begins to speak.
General Manager: Bobby…I regret to inform you that Cactus Jack has decided to not show up to the arena tonight. Perhaps the yellow streak that runs down his back is much more noticeable then earlier thought. I am officially announcing that you are the winner of this match via forfeit…use this extra time to get ready for Maven next week. Keep up the good work Bobby…I’ll be watching you.
Winner: Bobby Lashley via forfeit
We hear static crackling out, which perhaps signifies that the General Manager is now finally done. In the ring, we can tell that Bobby is visibly a little irritated about not getting his chance to get his hands on Cactus Jack…but happy at the same time with the opportunity that he has just made for himself next week. Next week he gets a chance to take that proverbial step to the next level when he takes on former champion Maven. But Maven will be looking to use this match as well…as a chance to show the General Manager that he was wrong for underestimating him. Should be great…we see Bobby exit the ring and walk up the ramp with Krystal in tow as his music kicks back on. Once he disappears behind the curtain…the shot switches back to JR and The King at ringside.
JR: Next week King…Bobby Lashley vs. Maven…this should be exciting.
The King: I don’t know who to go for Ross…both of them are going to be fighting with something to prove…
We see Ross and King share a collective shrug as the show goes to another commercial break.

Match 4: Sheamus vs. GreenSpark
JR: This match I’ve been looking forward to all night King…Sheamus makes his grand return to Thy WWE as he takes on GreenSpark.
King: The two challengers for the Celtic Championship at Wrestlemania fighting it out tonight…I’m sure that Randy Orton is going to be watching this match intently from the back.
JR: Definitely King.
We hear Coming Undone by Korn come on first over the arena speakers. Sheamus walks out to a mixed reaction from the crowd, pausing for a moment on top of the ramp he runs down and slides inside of the ring. We next then hear the theme music of Sheamus kick on over the speakers as the Celtic warrior walks out onto the ramp and raises his arms into the air. Lowering them quickly, we see Sheamus run down into the ring and immediately start trading blows with GreenSpark. Looks like these two men are both going to be looking for a quick start as the referee just decides to ring the bell and let these two men slug it out. After a few moments, Sheamus seems to want it just a bit more as he overwhelms GreenSpark and knocks him back into the corner. We now see Sheamus raise his arms in the air and let out a yell as he lifts his right leg up and jams it into the throat of GS as the referee immediately steps in and tries to get Sheamus to break the hold. Ignoring the officials’ call, we hear the referee break into the mandatory five count—1…2….3…GS is starting to turn a darker color as Sheamus simply stares at him ferociously…4…now breaking the count…we see Sheamus drop his foot, pull GS out of the corner and hit him with a short arm clothesline. GS hits the mat and Sheamus drops down and goes for the cover—1…2…NO! GS kicks out and Sheamus gets back to his feet and once again raises his arms into the air as the fans respond by booing him.
JR: We can definitely see that Sheamus is back with a vengeance King.
King: If he’s not careful Ross, he’s gonna get himself disqualified.
Sheamus then gets up to his feet and waits for GS. Stepping back, we see Sheamus charge and go for the Brogue Kick early on but GS is able to duck out of the way and drop Sheamus with a neck breaker. Sheamus hits the mat and is now holding his head in pain as GS follows up by mounting him and starting to reign down stiff looking right hands. Sheamus covers up to try and beg off from the blows as the referee interjects to stop the closed fist assault. GS stands up, nodding to the referee as he instead stomps Sheamus once in the stomach before grabbing his right leg and hitting a stiff looking kick to Sheamus’s upper thigh. Sheamus shakes on the mat in pain from the kick and GS kicks him one more time before dropping down and nailing and elbow to Sheamus’s knee before following it up with a knee lock. Tweaking the knee, we see the referee drop down to check on Sheamus and ask him if he wants to quit. Hearing the Celtic warrior howl NO causes the official to step back and continue to watch as GS applies pressure. Knowing that he needs to do something soon, otherwise his knee will get ripped out of socket. Sheamus sees his free leg and uses it to kick GS square in the head, once isn’t enough, but twice does the trick as GS lets go of the hold and Sheamus pulls himself away to try and recover. “Voices” by Rev Theory now kicks on over the speakers and the arena fans know immediately what’s happening next as we see the Celtic Champion Randy Orton come walking slowly out onto the stage with the belt around his waist.
JR: Randy is not in this match King…what is he doing out here.
The King: He’s gonna get a closer look at his two opponents Ross…what’s wrong with that.
Sheamus, still only on his knees, trying to recover from the assault on his knee sees Randy Orton walking down the ramp and stares almost hypnotically not at Orton…but at his once prized Celtic Championship now wrapped around Orton’s waist. By the time Orton gets down and rolls inside the ring, Sheamus has gotten himself back up…but a bit shaky while standing. Sheamus and Orton come face to face and just stare each other down in the center of the ring. We see the angry look from Sheamus while Orton simply breaks a small smile before turning away and seeing GS slowly making his way back up to his feet. Orton starts to head towards the outside of the ring, when we see Sheamus throw caution to the wind as he charges towards Orton…looking to hit him with a Brogue Kick from behind. However, Orton is able to sidestep and pull the referee in front of the blow. Orton then sees GS almost fully up, and proceeds to pull him around and zap him with an RKO. Orton then gets to the outside of the ring and turns back towards Sheamus and simply stares. Hitting the Brogue Kick on the official with the knee that GS was working on ended up hurting Sheamus as well, but he seems to be pushing through it as his gaze remains locked on Randy Orton at ringside. Looking down at a fallen GS, Sheamus seems to get an idea as he pulls him and puts him under for the High Cross. Never breaking his gaze from Orton the entire time, we see Sheamus lift GS up and hold him there for a moment before slinging him down and into the mat with the High Cross. Getting down and covering GS, while still staring at Orton…he slaps the referees back and shakes him. The referee slowly comes to, and he lifts his head up to see the pin fall taking place. Slapping the mat slowly, he makes the count—1…2…3! The match is over; Sheamus has won his debut match and seemingly has sent a strong message to Randy Orton.
Winner: Sheamus in 11:30 via the High Cross
JR: The match is over King…Sheamus wins…
The King: The history between Randy Orton and Sheamus is pretty well known Ross…it looks like another page just got added to it tonight.
JR: I don’t think GreenSpark is gonna take to kindly to getting laid out King…next week’s Raw should be interesting…especially since it’s the last show before Wrestlemania.
Sheamus and Randy Orton continue to stare at each other fiercely as the show goes to a commercial break.

Match 5: Jamie Moorefield/Shawn Michaels vs. Sir Luscious Leftfoot/Mr. Swag-A-Licious
JR: King, this next match is an interesting one. Wrestlemania opponents in Jamie Moorefield and Shawn Michaels take on two of the more comedic valued characters seen here in Thy WWE in Mr. Swag-A-Licious and Sir Luscious Leftfoot.
King: Leftfoot and Swag-A-Licious seem more content with just dancing then competing…so I’m not too sure what is going to happen in this match Ross.
The crowd gets quiet as Hammer Time blares over the PA and Swag and Leftfoot walk down the ramp. They talk quietly to themselves as Shawn Micheals theme blares over the PA and Shawn walks out followed slowly by Jamie Morrefeild. They both get down to the ring and watch Swag. As the ref has the bell rang Left foot and HBK both get onto the apron.
Morrefeild and Swag lock up and Jamie throws a knee into Swag's stomach. He puts him in a headlock dragging him to the corner where Micheals kicks him in the stomach. Swag stumbles back and Shawn starts punching him. Juts then Swag drops him with a clothesline. Swag walks over to Leftfoot and tags him in. Leftfoot waits for Shawn to stand up. As Shawn stands up Leftfoot goes for a Big Leftfoot and Shawn dodges. Then Shawn hits an Atomic Drop and tas Morrefeild in. Jamie backs him into a corner by throwing punches. He goes to irish whip Leftfoot into the corner but gets reversed and instead Jamie goes into the corner. Leftfoot tags Swag in and they grab him by the throat. They lift him up but as he is falling down he DDT's both of them. Jamie sits up using the ropes for back support. He pulls himself up and goes to tag Shawn who looks like he is ready to be tagged in. But instead Jamie turns around and pulls Swag up to his feet. He kicks Swag in the gut and Stunners him.
Swag hits the ground with a thud and Leftfoot back in his corner is motioning for Swag to tag him. But before Swag can make it Jamie covers him for a two count. Swag just barely then touches Leftfoot's fingertips. Leftfoot jumps into the ring and drops Jamie with a few clotheslines. He picks Morrefield back up and puts him on his shoulders. He jumps down and lands on the mat hard naking Jamie clench up. As Leftfoot goes to tag in Swag Jamie rolls him up and the ref gets about a millisecond away from three before Leftfoot kicks out. Jamie gets himself to his feet and walks toward Shawn. Shawn jumps off the apron and walks up the ramp. Morrefield stands there and yells "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Shawn just points to his head saying he out smarted Morrefield. As Morrefield is paying attention to Shawn Leftfoot tags in Swag. As Morrefield turns around he gets hit by The Big Leftfoot. Swag then covers him as Leftfoot gets out of the ring and the ref smacks his hand to the mat three times.
Winner: Sir Luscious Leftfoot/Mr. Swag-A-Licious in 8:45 via The Big Leftfoot
JR: Last week we seen Moorefield get one over on Shawn Michaels, now it appears that this week the tables have been reversed King.
King: What I wanna know Ross…is how long this Swag-A-Licious character and Luscious Leftfoot are going to stay employed here Ross. They don’t wrestle and they make a travesty out of our sport.
Swag and Leftfoot roll out of the ring and moonwalk up the ramp together while Shawn continues to laugh at a furious Moorefield in the ring. All I know is that, this Wrestlemania match between these two has just gotten that much more intense. Last week Jamie got one over Shawn, and now it’s been evened up this week. All attentions will certainly be on next week, to see who can get one over the other and how it will further add to the excitement of the Wrestlemania bout. The show then goes to a commercial break with a close up of Moorefield vowing to get Michaels back.

Match 6: Austin Starr vs. Jonny Freeman/Raven
(Handicap Match)
(Kenneth Walker is again banned from ringside)
JR: Main event time King…a match that is building up to very well what might be the most talked about on the Wrestlemania card. Austin Starr and Kenneth Walker taking on the Tag Team Champions Jonny Freeman and Raven but tonight due to stipulations from last week’s main event…Austin must stand alone and take on both Jonny and Raven in a handicap match.
King: The odds are certainly going to be stacked against Starr here Ross…but I’m sure that he’s got a plan to balance things out.
JR: What makes things that much more interesting King is the fact that in the past several days, we’ve not only seen Jonny try and cast doubts in the partnership that Austin and Kenneth have formed while Austin has given him a taste of his own medicine and tried to plant doubt about the strength of the tag team bond that Jonny and Raven have. Tonight should be a great match.
“Superstar” by Lupe Fiasco kicks on first over the arena speakers and the usual array of rampant boos that greet Austin Starr are changed with a surprising mixed reaction as we see Austin Starr walk out onto the stage staring coldly and stone faced ahead as he rolls his head from the left to right before walking down and getting inside the ring quickly. Staring cold and hard towards the entrance way as his theme song ends we are now awaiting the arrival of the Thy WWE Tag Team Champions Jonny and Raven. We only have to wait for a few seconds before the combined theme song of Jonny and Raven comes on over the arena speakers and the fans boo furiously and a few actually toss some trash at the two men…although they are quickly snatched up and removed by arena security. Jonny and Raven…who were heavily underestimated coming into this match have managed to turn things around in the past several weeks…using brilliantly shown teamwork and some subliminal tactics to show exactly why they hold the belts…and why victory will not be as easy as everybody thinks it will be. Jonny and Raven make their way down to ring and stand on the ramp…locking eyes with Austin…the champs get in the ring and hand their belts to the referee who asks if everybody understands the rules. Austin says nothing, along with the champions who say nothing as well. The referee waits another moment for an answer, when he doesn’t get one…he tells Raven to stand on the ramp and Jonny to start the match. He complies and then the bell is officially rang.
JR: Jonny and Austin…two men who are very familiar with each other from their days in SCW to the little game of verbal and back fourth that they’ve been playing over the past few days.
Austin and Jonny seem to be walking around the ring, with both of them trying to psyche the other out. Coming face to face in the center of the ring, we see the cocky, confident Jonny lock eyes with the still stone faced Austin. Jonny starts talking trash to Austin who still continues to stare, finally after Jonny takes it a step further by smacking Austin across the face…we see Austin come to life as he starts to unload on Jonny with a stinging barrage of kicks to his legs and ribs. Each one can be heard throughout the entire arena, and the look on Jonny’s face is apparent to the pain he’s feeling. However, a quick thumb to Austin’s eye quickly changes things and Jonny tags out to Raven. Raven comes in the ring, and as Austin stands up Raven simply waits for him. Austin then turns and Raven drops him down into the mat with a drop toe hold. Raven then stands up with a sinister gleam in his eye as he goes to the outside of the ring and shoves one of the crew members to the ground and takes the steel chair that he was sitting on. Rolling back in the ring with the steel chair, Raven looks down at Starr as he is getting back up and screams “WHAT ABOUT RAVEN” HUH STARR! Raven raises the chair up and goes to bring it down across the back of Austin. But then the referee interjects himself and snatches the chair away. On the apron we can hear Jonny screaming at Raven…asking him what is he doing and is he trying to get the two of them disqualified. Raven looks at Jonny only for a moment and then turns his attention back to Austin, but he is hit with a double leg takedown by Austin. Switching from the double leg into a pinning situation, the referee drops down and goes for the count—1...NO! Raven kicks out and Austin pulls him back up to his feet.
JR: Looks like there’s still life in Austin…perhaps the champs shouldn’t have been trying to end things so early King.
King: Who knows Ross…who knows….
Austin has forced Raven back into the corner and is lacing his chest with knife edge chops. With each chop that echoes throughout the arena we hear a collective ‘WHOO’ from the arena fans. Austin then stops chopping away and as Raven staggers forward, he is hooked in an overhead belly to belly suplex and flung overhead by Austin. Austin seems to be in a different zone now as Raven flops around on the mat in pain. Austin stops for a moment and locks eyes with Jonny Freeman once again on the apron. Pointing to him and mouthing that he is next, Austin grabs the legs of Raven and locks him in a sharpshooter. Cinching in the hold we see Austin get a small grin on his face. Letting go of the hold we see Austin pull Raven back to his feet once more and get him in a clinch. Going MMA style, we see Austin knee Raven in the side and then in the stomach before spiking his head into the mat with a rough looking DDT. Austin gets up right away, and it looks like Jonny has had enough waiting on the mat. He comes in the ring and pushes past the referee, going to the center of the ring and trading blows with Austin. The two of them go back and forth with neither man getting a significant advantage, their exchange gets interrupted by not only the referee, but by Raven as well who is now back on his feet as he grabs Austin from behind and low blows him before connecting with an Evenflow DDT. Austin is still on the mat and we immediately hear “I Believe” by Creed come on over the arena speakers. Wait a minute though, Ken is banned from ringside. Why would he come out here? We see Kenneth Walker walk out on the ramp and run down to the ring. Jonny and Raven are preparing for a fight, while Austin slowly begins to stir on the mat. Jonny then tells Raven not to worry about it, as he points to Ken and then sling shots himself over the top rope onto Ken outside of the ring. The two of them roll around on the mat fighting with each other while in the ring Raven pulls Austin to his feet, perhaps to hit him with another Evenflow DDT. But Austin shocks him by pushing Raven back and connecting with a Rising Starr kick…landing flush on Raven’s chin. The fans cheer in the arena and Raven falls still to the mat, Austin drops down back first over Raven and makes the count…the referee slides and makes the count—with the fans in the arena counting along with him…1…2…3! Oh my god! Austin Starr has defied the odds and beaten the Tag Team Champions.
Winner: Austin Starr in 15:30 via Rising Starr
Hearing the bell rung causes Ken and Jonny to stop fighting on the outside of the ring…Ken goes in and helps a beaten Austin to his feet. However their celebration is cut off by the voice of the General Manager piping in over the arena speakers.
General Manager: May I have your attention gentleman…as much as it pains me to do this Austin…last week when you got pinned in the main event…the stipulation mandated that Kenneth Walker will be banned from ringside for the entire match. Since Ken chose to ignore that mandate and interject himself in this contest, thereby influencing the outcome in your favor…I have no choice but to reverse the decision just seen…disqualify you Austin and award the victory to Jonny Freeman and Raven. Rules are rules gentleman…I will have order on my show…thank you…good day.
The fans break into deafening boos as the decision is reversed.
Winner: Raven/Jonny Freeman in 15:30 via DQ
Hearing the decision get reversed from the General Manager causes Austin to get furious…we can see Ken trying to apologize…but Austin appears to be having none of it as he just exits the ring and walks up the ramp…pushing by a now beaming Jonny Freeman and Raven. Uh oh…this certainly can’t be good considering the recent seeds of doubt planted by Jonny Freeman. All I know ladies and gentleman…is next weeks Raw…the last show before Wrestlemania…is going to be exciting…Raw goes off the air with Austin stopping for a moment at the top of the stage…looking back at a still trying to apologize Ken in the ring…simply shaking his head and leaving….
