I got up and took a shower. After getting out of the shower and getting dressed. I walked into the living room of my house as my phone began to ring. I picked up the phone and began to speak.
"Hey, Brian. How you doing today man?"
It was my long time friend, Brian Blades, on the other end of the line. His voice sounded a bit different than usual. Almost as if he was afraid of something. I listened to his words as he started to speak to me.
"Tyler, I can’t do it anymore! I can’t live the lie.......sooner or later she’s going to find out and she has to hear it from me. You have to help me, you’re the only one who understands what she means to me."
I thought for a moment about who he was talking about. Then after a few moments it occurred to me who he was talking about. My voice calm cool and collected because I knew exactly what he was going through.
"Alright, man. Just calm down. Everything will be okay. I will help you. You are like my brother I have no reason not to."
I listened closely as his breathing started to slow down to a normal speed. All the stories he told me about what he walked away from slowly hit me making me think about what I had lost. I knew that I had to do anything in my power to help my friend put his life back together. It wouldn’t be easy convincing someone that you faked your death out of love but we had to try. As he spoke to me I could tell we were finally getting somewhere.
"Tyler, it means a lot to me. There isn’t any blood between us but you are my brother. She has to know that I’m alive. She has to find out that who I really am. It’s all that matters to me. Until I see her, I can’t give this match between EJ and I my all. It has to happen on Pulse!"
I listened deliberately to my best friend who was like my brother. We basically grew up in this business together but we never once faced each other. And now here we are in two different promotions and I couldn't do much to help him but he was like my brother I had to do something. And he was saying he wasn’t going to be able to give it his all. I don’t believe that for a second. I know Brian and he always gives his matches one hundred percent. After a few moments I began to speak.
"Brian. I understand what your going through. Trust me. I had to walk out on my wife to go defend this country. But with her I was not able to come back and see her again. Her or my two sons. You get the chance to see her again sometime in the near future. Trust me on that. And if she is going to mess with your mind so much that you can’t give your all in our match than your not as passionate about wrestling as I thought you were. So what you need to do is take all of your feelings, whether they are hate, sadness, anger, fear. You need to fucking bottle that shit up and use it to fire yourself up for this fucking match. Because I know what its like to go into a match with my head not one hundred percent on the match. That is how I blew out my knee and lost my title. So brother, what you need to do is dry up your tears and what have you and get in that brand spankin’ new truck I bought you. Bring your ass to Houston and stay with me tonight and we will go up to IWA tomorrow and train. Because we both fucking know that training will take our minds off anything. It worked in the past. So hurry up and get your ass down here."
I took a deep breath from speaking and sat back thinking about all the tough love I just dealt to Brian. His words seemed to flow more freely now as I even heard him laugh a little.
"It’ll take me about forty five minutes to make it from Odessa to Houston, I’ll be there as soon as I can."
I heard the call end giving me a slight feeling of satisfaction knowing that my words may have lit a fire under my buddy’s ass. I thought to myself “God I am the master of lighting fires under peoples asses. The Marines taught me well”. After a few moments I sat the phone down and looked out the window of my house saw everything going on and decided to go out to IWA for a little bit and practice some of my new moves and get them perfected for my match against Brian. He knows me like the back of his hand just as I do him. But the fact is I can’t rest on that because I know in the few years we have been separated he has probably come up with some new moves as have I come up with new moves. I went into my closet and got my wrestling gear then walked out my front door locking it behind me then going down the stairs and getting into my Lamborghini and driving the ten minutes to IWA and getting out activating the alarm and going inside. Upon entering I was greeted by a young man whom looked a lot like my son Dominic just older. It was still hard to talk to him but I managed.
"Hey, Kyle. You been busy today?"
Kyle looked up at me and began to speak.
"Not really, Tyler. What brings you up to IWA. I heard you got another match in that one promotion soon. I figured you would be up getting ready for the show and doing some PR stuff."
I smiled he was new to the industry working for his ring time and training from me. But he did know his stuff I have to give him that.
"Nah. PR isn’t my style and the show isn’t until next week. So I figured I would come train a little bit here to get my new moves perfected. I know you have always wanted some ring time. How about you train with me some."
Just as Kyle was about to say something a familiar voice was heard behind me and Kyle’s eyes lit up. It was no secret Kyle was always a big fan of his. I could feel his eyes burning into the back of my head knowing he was standing there with that shit eating grin painted on his face. I listen as he spoke to me. "Well if it isn’t that handsome son of a bitch, Tyler fucking Marshall! Didn’t anyone ever tell you it was rude not to look at someone when they talked to you?"
Hearing his words made me laugh a little. I could almost see the stupid, cocky smile grow on his face as he stood behind me. I smiled for a moment knowing he couldn’t see my facial expression we have danced like this on many of occasions. I looked at Kyle and began to speak.
"Kyle you might want to step back a little bit. I don’t want to hit you."
Kyle listened to what I had said and took a few steps back. I got this devilish smile on my face and then started speaking again.
"You know we have done this way to many times Brian. Another one couldn’t hurt."
I knew Brian knew what I was talking about. I could feel his head duck a little as I went for my patented Thorazine flipping kick. And just like the many times before he ducked and I had just enough height to clear his body and me being conscious enough in my movement reached out place a hand on his back and propelled my body a little further back and landing on my feet. I then looked at Brian and outstretched my hand waiting for him to turn around.
"Good times. You seem to have gotten a little quicker these days."
Seeing Brian accept my handshake kept the smile on my face. It seemed almost as if he and I were inseparable these days and I knew exactly how he would react. He was about to give me one of his usual cocky remarks that I have grown accustomed to over the past several years.
"I know, you think a dead guy would be a little slower than that! It’s almost like all this is my second chance, finally it all means something to me again. I have to say, after talking to you earlier, I’m glad my first match back is against my best friend and not some random jack off that no one has heard of."
Brian’s words fell heavy on me, he hadn’t told me anything I didn’t already know but it was always nice to have that small reassurance of things. I watch as he looked around the building almost as if everything was happening right on cue.
"Good lookin’ place you’ve got here, you gonna introduce me to this kid who’s been starring daggers at my face or are you going to let him stand there and look like an idiot?"
I laughed and looked over at Kyle who’s mouth was wide open after what he had just seen. Not only his favorite wrestler of all time. But the owner of the gym he worked at was like a brother to this guy. Kyle didn’t know where to start. I just laughed and began to speak.
"Kyle, knows who you are bro. You are like his idol. But this is Kyle. He is just starting out like we did all those years ago. Working for ring time. In my opinion he has earned a hefty amount of ring time. So I invited him to train with me. Until you showed up. You mind if we let him train with us. And show this guy what life is like in the big leagues?"
I looked from Kyle to Brian and laughed because Kyle still hadn’t picked his jaw up off the floor. I watched as Brian did exactly as I expected he would. He reached his right hand out and closed Kyle’s jaw and looked at the poor kid with a smirk.
"I kinda noticed the puddle of drool forming at your feet, might wanna work on that, Tyler and I have a tendency to attract a lot female attention when we hit the mats, you never know what pretty little number is going to come threw those doors and I can’t let you look like a fool when that happens! If you’re gonna ride with us then you gotta get the image, kid!"
I tried to hold in my laughter hearing how Brian was talking to Kyle. What happened next was just as I would have expected. He looked at me and spoke the words I could feel were coming.
"Haven’t you taught this poor kid anything? It’s all about presentation and you got him standing here looking like a water fountain and shit! That’s what the fuck is wrong with you!"
I couldn’t hold the laughter any longer. I busted out laughing and then looked up at Kyle who was still dumbfounded that Brian Blades was in the gym. After a few moments I regained my composure and began to speak.
"I tried man. He usually does really well. I guess that he didn’t expect to see you coming through the door. I mean considering you are his idol. I mean come on. If my idol walked through the door I would be in his position as well even after all my years in wrestling. But Kyle he is right. At some point today there will be a group of ladies walking through that door. Not just any ladies. Ladies that you would kill to be with. If you keep up the presentation that you got right now. They just gonna laugh at you. But you present yourself like we do. Next thing you know we will all be at the club later tonight. Drinking and having a good time. So I suggest you get your shit together Kyle go get your gear on and meet us in the ring."
I watched as Kyle snapped back to reality and scurried off. Brian and I walked to my office. I pulled out a bag and tossed it to Brian and began to speak.
"I always keep a set of your old gear around just in case you ever came by. When ever your ready we can start."
I watched as Brian looked the bag over. When the smile came over his face I knew he had found the symbolism in it. When he and I first met at the show in Mexico my luggage didn’t make it through customs. He told me to keep it because he had plenty. I knew it meant something to him that I had kept it all these years.
"You kept this stuff around all these years? This is the gear I gave you in Mexico, remember, they wouldn’t let your bags through customs? Me and Shawn came along and saw this punk sitting on the bench tripping out about how he couldn’t go out. It took a lot of courage for you to approach us like you did, we didn’t exactly have the best rep in the back. I remember I told you that it happened to all of us sooner or later. It blows me away that you kept it."
I smiled. That gear had sentimental value. Had Brian not given me this gear I would have never had my first wrestling match as a pro. So I guess I have to owe my whole career to Brian. I looked from the gear back up to Brian and began to speak.
"It means everything to my career man. You and Shawn gave that to me in Mexico. Without that I would have never actually met you two and actually started my career. So in a way I guess I owe everything to you guys."
I smiled and looked at Brian who was smiling back. I could see that his face was overwhelmed with sudden emotion.
"I think we’re more than even these days. I’ll be back in a few moments, just let me get changed."
I nodded as Brian went to go get changed. I am always wearing my wrestling attire ninety percent of the time. Brian knew where the ring was so I went to check on Kyle who should have been ready by now. I walked down the corridor to the training room where the ring was. It brought back memories. I hadn’t been here in a long time. Last time I was here was right after my last tour in Iraq where on my way home I learned my family had been killed. Everytime I walk down this corridor the same scene plays in my head.
<br><br>
“Tyler your whole unit isn’t really mobilized. It is just you.”
I looked at Thompson confused.
“Sir, I don’t think I understand.”
Thompson smiled and looked at me.
“Son, those men weren’t from your unit. Your unit is all still at home. You are the only one being deployed.”
I finally grasped what was going on and looked around before speaking.
“Sir, why was I chosen and not anyone else?”
Thompson looked at me and stared him down.
“Tyler it’s because you are the best god damn soldier we have right now. You are the only one that can move without being seen. Shoot without being heard. Assassinate without being compromised. Son this order comes directly from the president himself. Go son grab your gear flight leaves in forty-five mikes.”
I walked into the barracks and grabbed my bags and made sure I had everything. I put my harness on inside of my uniform blouse and harnessed all his sidearms and buttoned my blouse back up. I made sure all of the weapons were loaded before I harnessed them. Thompson smiled watching me suit up with my firearm harness and wondered where my swords and knife were. Before Thompson knew it both swords were strapped to my back and the knife sheathed in my chest pocket. Next was the rifle, I assembled it and laid it on the floor of the limo as I opened the secret compartment and pulled out all the extra ammo clips for the sidearms and put them into the side pockets of my trousers. I put the DE clips on one side and the p228 clips on the other side. Thompson watched as me closed up the secret compartment of the bag and then put the rifle back into the bag and closed it up.
“Colonel, am I going to have to worry about airport security?”
I asked not wanting to have to be without my equipment that I just spent most of the limo ride putting on.
“No Tyler, there shouldn’t be any problems at all.”
Thompson smiled as the limo slowed to a stop out front of the airport. I stepped out of the limo grabbed my bags and walked into the airport Thompson right behind me. We walked for a good fifteen minutes until twe got to the airport security checkpoint and there were a couple guys from my unit waiting.
“Right this way Sir.”
Said two Corporals once they saw Thompson and I and waved us around the checkpoint and rushed us to the flight. Thompson stopped at the gate and I stopped as well.
“Well Tyler this is as far as I go. You do well over there. Come back in one piece.”
I smiled and spoke.
“The only good Marine is a Marine with a weapon.”
Thompson laughed as he watched me walk down the tunnel onto the plane and found my seat and was on my way to Iraq.... I was covered from shoulder to toe in sand watching a target through my scope finger itching on the trigger six months ago I was at home with my family and now I am in the heart of Iraq watching this target which happens to be my seventy-fifth confirmed kill.I regulated my breathing and then began squeezing on the trigger until the soft squeak of the suppressor sounded and I saw the target go down the wall behind him sprayed with blood.I got my radio and communicated with base.
“Hayabusa to command repeat Hayabusa to command.”
I said into the radio.
“This is command go ahead Hayabusa.”
Command radioed back.
“Target is down confirmed kill. Requesting xfil.”
I replied.
“Solid copy Hayabusa, chopper will be there for xfil in five mikes.”
Command responded. I then smiled and responded.
“Solid copy command Hayabusa out.”
"Sir, is something wrong?"
I said into the phone. After a few moments of silence Thompson began to speak.
"Tyler, they're gone."
I immediately felt my heart sink into my stomach. I felt as if I was jumping to conclusions but all I could think was something had happened to Kelly, Dominic and Dante.
"Sir, who's gone? I don't understand."
Thompson cleared his throat.
"Kelly, Dom, and Dante. They are gone Tyler. There was nothing we could do to help them. I am sorry."
It took a few moments to set in then I realized. My family was gone. and they weren't coming back. It made me smile slowly making me forget the memory of that fateful day. After a few moments I began to speak to Kyle.
"Kyle, you seem like a natural. Like you were born in the ring. I can tell once you get some time under your belt you could be a great wrestler."
Kyle just smiled and kept warming up as I stretched and then felt a familiar presence enter the room. The presence moved towards Kyle and myself then finally I heard the words to confirm my thoughts.
"Hit him right above the right knee and he’ll crash like a ton of bricks. Always was his weak spot."
I felt that wicked smirk form on his lips as it pierced my skin like a dagger. I was quick to move the thought from my mind. I knew Brian better than that. I found a smirk of my own on my face as I watched him enter the ring. It brought back so many memories standing here alongside him once again. I listened closely as he spoke to Kyle.
"Loosen up kid, right now, we’re just two guys trying to teach you a thing or two! When it’s over, you can be that fan again. Pay attention and we’ll show you how the big dogs play!"
I nodded smiling and followed Brian into the ring and then looked at Kyle and began to speak.
"Haha, Brian you know that was my weakspot. Now I am so quick you gotta get to the weak spot to exploit it. Don’t believe me? Well lets try it out."
I laughed as Kyle stepped out of the ring. Brian and I squared off. He knew the first run through was going to be my old way so he went for my knee like he always did and I laughed and began to speak.
"Alright. You got me in my old ways. Lets try the new and improved way."
We squared off again and he went for the knee. I flung my upper body backwards landing on my upper back and rolled through landing on my feet and catching Brian in a submission hold.
"Now you see Brian. I am a completely different wrestler than the last time we were together in a company."
I listened as I hear a slight burst of laughter come from Brian’s breath. I could only imagine what was going through his mind and then I suddenly found myself in a pinch, I let my guard down for just that split second and he used it against me. I found myself not only holding onto the submission I had locked Brian in but also on the receiving end of something he had locked on me.I fought until I finally heard him speak something to me.
"Alright, you let go and I let go! We can't kill each other we both have fucking matches!"
I laughed and released the submission as Brian did the same. I then looked at Kyle who looked like he was itching to get into the ring. I smiled and began to speak
"You ready kid?"
As I asked Kyle if he was ready, I saw none other than Eric James walking into the gym.He extended his hand towards me first.
"Well well, who the hell do we have here? If it isn’t my old punching bag Brian, and my good friend Tyler. Damn it’s been forever my friends. How the hell are you two doing?”
Eric gave a smirk and a laugh after his comment, I could tell that this was still the EJ of old. Cocky and arrogant. That’s the reason we all love EJ, or love to hate him, or whatever you would call it. Eric then turned his attention towards Brian standing beside me. Eric shook his head.
“Brian Blades. I thought you retired man? I didn’t have any idea you were coming back to professional wrestling. If so, I would have gotten Jamison to offer you more than a one match contract and have you sitting behind our commentators booth with that Kraus guy. What the hell man, I thought we were boys?”
I watched knowing almost for certain what Brian would say. It was nice to know he never let me down. He laughed at the comments made by Eric and simply gave him a quick shrug of his shoulders.
"You know me, nothing is ever for sure. I have my reasons for coming back though. It wasn’t for money or even because I missed it. When the time is right, everyone will know. So what brings your corporate ass down to Houston fucking Texas? I thought you were too rich to hang out with me and Tyler anymore. It’s like you became this big shot and you forget all about us."
I looked from Brian to Eric and shook my head. These two couldn’t go anywhere without getting into it in some way, shape, or form. I almost knew what Eric was going to say, except. His answer surprised me.
“Well, to be honest Brian, I really don’t need the money or the fame or anything else anymore. With my company booming up north, I got all of that whenever I want it. Except...James won’t actually let me work anymore. He said it wouldn’t look good if a co-owner of the company was doing in ring work constantly. So, I got a call from this indy fed, um...the name...God, I can’t remember it to save my life. Something like WWCF? Maybe, yeah! That was it. Anyways. WWCF called me and asked if I’d like to do some in ring work for them, put some asses in the seats with the Eric James name, so I told them sure. About 10 minutes after James told me I couldn’t wrestle anymore, the fire came back like it never has before. The desire to work had just...overtaken me. So of course I wasn’t going to turn this down. I looked at their roster, saw Brian Blades and Tyler Marshall on the roster, seeing as how I know you two personally, I chomped at the bit. Plus, there’s a female here who I’ve heard great things about in ring wise, hoping to maybe recruit her into the PWI cause while I’m here.”I smiled knowing EJ was back. Brian didn’t seem too thrilled about it though. I looked from Brian to EJ then Kyle who seems to be forgotten. After a moment I began to speak."EJ its good to see you. Kyle sorry about you not getting your in ring time today. I promise as soon as I get back from the TVW show we will get together and we will start working. And EJ you might want to duck or move because what I am about to do I don’t want to hit you.
I looked at EJ to see what his choice was going to be. EJ moved over to the left a tad as I ran to the far side of the ring and bounced of the ropes intentionally jumping from the middle of the ring rotating one hundred and eighty degrees and landing on the ropes with the back of my knees the ropes gave a little and sprung me up a little higher. My momentum carried me outside the ring and flipping backwards and landing on my feet and then I push off the ground flip once more and then land on my feet and begin to speak.
"Alright my little show is over, haha. What do you got planned EJ?
I look at Eric, who seems to be focused on Brian at the particular moment. His facial expression was a puzzled one. He turned his attention back towards me after I asked him the question
“Same thing I have planned in every promotion I go to. Win some titles, get some pussy, make some enemies, bust some heads, and hang with my boys.”
Eric, after making the joke laughed at what he said and turned his attention back to Brian.
“You know, Brian, you don’t look as thirlled as Tyler does to see me. In fact, you look pretty damn pissed. Is there any particular reason you don’t look happy that I’m here?”
Brian had a gaze set sternly upon his face. I questioned EJ’s accusations in my own mind because I wasn’t certain his stare was directed towards him. I stood idly by watching wondering what words would come from the mouth of the man I called my brother. In his current state of mine, anything was possible!
"Everything is fine, all that matters is that she knows the truth and she comes back to me. Soon, soon she’ll know and so will everyone else. They will all know who Brian Blades really is. The lie that I made them all believe. They always said that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled.......was convincing the world that he didn’t exist. If that holds true, then you’re looking at the devil in the flesh!
I turned my head towards Eric. I wondered if any of this made any sense to him at all. Judging by his facial expression, and the words that came out of his mouth, my guess would be a no.
“Who the hell gave him alcohol? He’s acting crazier than normal. Brian, who’s going to come back to you? What lie are you even talking about? The lie that you’re retired? We all knew you were going to come back. You always do, so we never believed you were gone. Really? I told you to stay sober dude. Now look at you, ranting and raving like some lunatic. Good job, Bri. Now I have to go to your house and hide it all again.”
I looked at EJ and then to Brian. I knew what Brian was talking about but I didn’t know if I should tell EJ about it. I looked at Brian to get the nod for approval to let EJ in on what was going on. Brian gave me the nod to clarify everything.
"EJ, what Brian is talking about is there is somone from his past in WWCF and they think he is dead because the last time they was him was when he staged his death so he could disappear for while. From what I can tell he really cared about this person. I am not sure who it is but this has nothing to do with alcohol. He staged his death to disappear from wrestling for a while. When he wanted to return he was no longer Brian “The Blade” Skaggs, but The Soldier of Chaos Brian Blades. The man who could pull off acting like Skaggs like no one else could. And no one would ever know about who he really was. And now he plans on telling the whole world who he really is. Thats what he meant by everything he just said."
I looked at EJ and Brian and stopped speaking. Kyle had ran off to do some other work around the gym leaving the three men to talk. I smiled and looked around the room and then began to speak again.
"Well, now thats clarified what do you two say we go out and have a beer. Its on me. I haven’t seen the two of you in years and we seriously need to get caught up."
I look to both Eric and Brian. Eric’s face looked as though it was still comprehending everything that I had just told him. His eyes shifted from the floor, to me, to Brian over there. He seemed, unsure, like he didn’t trust us at this moment.
“So, let me get this straight? Brian’s not Brian? Well, he’s Brian, but not the man I’ve thought he was? So..He’s really Brian Skaggs? Hm, interesting plot twist there Brian. No doubt it was a female who he did this for? Damn, I know you’re always one for theatrics when it comes to the ladies, but really man? Did you have to fake your death. I must say...I’m slightly impressed. I didn’t think your feeble mind was capable of thinking up something so...So complicated. So....Manipulative. A plus, Brian. A plus.”
I looked at Eric as he began to applaud Brian. I couldn’t help but form a smile and mutter to myself the word “Asshole.” But it was Eric, and we were all here again, together. Friends.
“You know, Tyler. I’d love to go out for drinks, just as long as mines non-alcoholic. You know, the whole Straight Edge thing factors in right about now. How ‘bout a nice tall glass of Dew? That sounds delicious right about now.”
I watched as Brian still stared coldly into the blank space of where ever his mind had traveled to. Part of me was worried about what he had the potential to become. I shook him slightly in an act to bring him back to reality. His eyes slowly found their way back to our plain of existence focusing on the face of Eric James.
"I guess I kinda went to another place there for a minute. I’ve been having these flashbacks lately. I think it’s lack of sleep but sometimes I find myself in the weirdest places, like I lose control of my body, anyway, drinks is cool with me!"
My ears pick up the sound of Eric throwing a snicker towards Brian.
“Of course drinks are cool with you, damn alcoholic. So, uh this chick. She must have been hot as hell, Brian. To do all of that, she must have had some great sex. How was it? Pornstar like sex? Or was she all beauty and no skill.. I hate those.”
I took a step back from the situation knowing the possibility that Eric was going to get his bell rung. I wanted to be as far away as possible when Brian snapped. However he surprised even me when he simply looked at Eric and shrugged his shoulders.
"I don’t kiss and tell, old friend!
I smiled and waved the boys to the door. I made sure to turn out the training room light and followed the boys down the corridor. About midway through the corridor they got a little ways ahead of me and I had to stop. The scene of that fateful day playing in my head as if it was a cd stuck on repeat and that was the only song on the cd. All I could hear was the Colonel’s voice telling me they were gone. Next thing I know I am back in Iraq and have no idea how I got there. I look down and I am not in my wrestling gear. I am in my military uniform. I have my entire loadout lying at my feet. I do what is my first instinct in my mind and gear up and move out. This all seems so real. I look and see a patrol of enemy soldiers walking by. I know that my side arms have suppressors on them so I draw them and lay out the five man patrol. I drag the bodies off into the underbrush that luckily had been near by and then looked for a place to move out to. I looked and looked. All I could see was desert on all sides. I felt my chest and pockets for my radio. I radio to command but no answer. I try again and still get no answer. I looked off into the distance and saw a small black dot. I know from my experience as a sniper that everything looks small when its far away. As if on instinct I pulled up my rifle and looked through the scope. And saw a tank. Even though I thought it was no use I went ahead and tried to radio command again and let them know about the tank. Next thing I know I am flying through the air right after a huge explosion. As soon as I hit the ground I snap back to reality and all I can see is brightness. All I can feel is something shaking me. I slowly opened my eyes to see Brian standing over me. I can see his mouth moving but I was unable to hear the words he spoke. Then from out of nowhere it came crashing around me ringing the inside of my head. If this was a hangover I didn’t even want to know what I had to drink!
"Hey, Tyler, wake up man....you’re starting to act like me! Where I come from, in our world, that’s gimmick infringment!"
I didn’t even know where I was at the moment. I went from being in the corridor of bad memory, to Iraq, and now I have absolutely no idea where I am all I know is Brian is standing over me and trying to make sure I am alright.
"Wh.....Wha...What happened? Where am I? Brian tell me what the fuck is going on I am so fucking lost right now."
I was slowly coming to my senses. I was slowly remembering bits and pieces of what happened before that flashback. I remembered being in the training room with Brian and EJ and then walking out and then now I am here. Brian is standing over me and EJ is no where to be found. I listened close as Brian spoke to me.
"We went to the club, you were drinking pretty heavy and next thing I know, I was carrying your heavy ass out of the bar. EJ left a few hours ago, I told him I had everything under control with you. It’s probably best if we get you checked out at the hospital man, I think someone might have slipped something in your drink. All I knew was minute you seemed perfectly fine and the next you were passed out on the floor barely even breathing."
I looked at Brian not confused but not fully sure on what was still going on. I could remember the flashback like it happened just a minute ago. He then looked at Brian.
"Bro. No one slipped me anything. I just had the most intense flashback. It all seemed so real. I remember it vivdly."
I looked at Brian and then around the room. Nothing seemed to be certain right now. Still I wondered just how everything felt so real. Brian finally spoke to me and it put my mind at ease as I listened to his words.
"Tyler, I don’t know what happened but I can relate to the flashbacks. For months she’s all I can think about. I find sometimes that I’m with her all over again and I wake up and I have no idea where I am or even what I’m calling myself anymore. I know what it’s like to live with the feeling of emptiness. I wish I could tell you it gets better but I haven’t found a way out yet. Does that make sense to you?"
I looked at Brian thinking none of that really made sense.
"Brian, it doesn’t really make any sense at all. I don’t even remember leaving the gym. All I remember is being in the hall outside of the training room then all of the sudden I was in Iraq again. I know I couldn’t have had much to drink. Because it seems I was out for less than ten minutes but when I showed up in Iraq we were still at the gym. Did I act normal while we were out and everything?"
Brian looked at me like he didn't know what was going on.
"Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until you collapsed on the dance floor. You even drove us there man. That’s what made me think someone slipped you something. I knew better than to think after only six beers you would be that drunk."
I smiled Brian knew me better than I thought.
"That must have been why I collapsed. Its making a little sense now. I was acting normal when we were out and everything and I have no recollection of it. While we were out in my head I was in Iraq. I was walking normally and we going through everything like I did while in Iraq. Then I saw a tank in the distance through my rifle scope. Next I heard and explosion the threw me backward and next thing I know your standing over me and I have no idea what the fuck is going on."
Brian just shrugged and shook his head.
"I don’t know man, maybe it was a lack of oxygen from that little workout we had. After this match maybe we both need to get our heads looked at."
I smiled thinking about that comment.
"Yeah man, I agree. Lets head back to the house and chill out there. I am good now. But if something happens again. I would feel more comfortable knowing I am going to wake up at home."
Brian nodded his head as I spoke to him. If anything was certain it would be that he was going to see to it that I was in good hands.
"Saddle up, hoss! Eric took your car back to your place already. I’ll have you there as soon as I can. Just try not to go crazy on my ass on the way over there!"
I laughed hearing the words that my friend had just spoken to me. I didn’t know what was going on in my own mind but I knew I needed to go home. I watched him as he started to walk towards the door listening to his words as he turned back to me.
"Hurry up, we might be able to salvage a little bit of tonight. If I know Eric he took the girls back to your place because that’s how he rolls."
I stood up feeling a little dizzy as I followed Brian outside. I still seemed to be a little disoriented but I was able to quickly shake that feeling. We got into a cab and headed for the house. I thought back to what Brian said about EJ and smiled. After a few moments I began to speak.
"Tell me bro. How many girls were there exactly. You know me. I like variety.
Brian then looked over at me as the cab stopped and began to speak.
"You know how we roll, I think Kyle and EJ had every girl in the club eating from the palm of their hand before we headed out. If everything went to plan.....like it always does......I’d say the party moved back to your place!
I smiled as we stepped out of the cab and walked up the sidewalk to my front door. The closer we got the louder the music. And as if on instinct the door flung itself open and Eric was standing there about to speak.
“I swear to God, if either of you tell Lucky about tonight, I’ll kill both of you. This is one hell of a party dude. Where the hell have you two been? Sucking some dick at the bar? Geez dude, we got chicks running around naked and junk. Get in here.”
I looked at Eric as he motioned me to come in my own house. What the hell? I couldn’t help but laugh and shake my head as Brian and myself began walking up the steps to my door. Eric had already flung himself down on the couch. He grabbed his Mountain Dew bottle and took a drink out of it. I looked at him like he was an idiot. Hot girls, and my fridge was stacked full of alcoholic beverages, and yet, the son of a bitch decides to drink SODA? This guy was off his rocker, more so than me or Brian, which is saying a LOT.
"Haha, Eric you never change man. All this alcohol in the house and your ass is drinking Mountain Dew. Man you need to loosen up a little. And don’t worry Lucky won’t hear about........"
My statement trailed off as four amazing chicks ran by with nothing but a smile and skin. Well that’s all I saw anyways. I looked from Brian to Eric then over to Kyle who had found himself preoccupied with a group of girls over in the corner. After a moment I began to speak.
"Anyways...... Hold that thought I shall return soon."
Brian and Eric watched as I followed the scent of the four women that had just ran by. I could hear them still even over the music.
"Looks like he’s feeling better! About Lucky, I don’t even know the girl so tonight, she doesn’t even exist! Your secret is safe with me, now if you’ll excuse me, it looks as if our man Kyle has bitten off much....much more than he can chew! I think I need to go and take about four of them off his hands myself!"
I broke eye contact away from the lovely ladies for just a split second to see Eric get a frustrated look upon his face. Brian had left him, as well as I, and I knew he wasn’t one to be cheating around, so I felt sorry for the man. He looked depressed as he chugged his Dew down. I shook my head as I turned my attention to the tits and ass....I mean women, in front of me.
"So ladies... Now that you have my attention as I am sure I have yours. How about we go upstairs and have a little fun in private."
The ladies all nodded as I walked off for a moment and summoned all of the guys and began to speak.
"Alright no one leaves tonight.... Well except if you want to Eric. Mi casa Su casa. Make yourselves at home. Your in my house now. Drink party. There are many rooms upstairs for you guys to enjoy the female company in..... Private. Well except for you Eric I mean unless you want to but I know how you are about Lucky. Well men. Have a good night I shall see you guys on the flip side."
I looked at the guys before I began taking off upstairs, as I was walking, I heard EJ spout something off.
“You know what, Blades, fuck it. Tonight, Eric’s gettin’ some hooker pussy. LET’S DO IT!”
I was laying in bed still in the company of the seven women who managed to make their way inside my room before I locked the door when I heard a bit of laughter coming from the room that Brian had always stayed in at my house. I could tell he wasn’t alone as I heard at least three female voices with him....that was all I could count at least. I tried to enjoy my morning but I heard a pound on my door and I knew that it wasn’t going to go away. I listened close knowing there was going to be a voice that followed it.
"Tyler, get your ass up, we got work to do today. Tell the girls to stay put and we’ll throw another party when we get back! I got that freak motherfucker EJ up and motivated and you’re no different than him!"
I smiled looking at the group of women that had found their way into my room last night all of them just as sexy as the next. I knew I had to train today but I wanted to have a little more fun. All of the ladies were awakened by Brian’s pounding on the door they all sat up and looked at me. After a few moments I kissed each one of them on the cheek and began to speak.
"You heard the man. If you guys want more of the light in the darkness stay put we will be throwing another party when we get back. Feel free to invite more friends if you wish. I am happy with you girls but my friends out there could use some.... how do I say... variety."
All of them nodded and covered back up as I got dressed and unlocked the door and walked out shutting the door behind me looking at Brian. We both had excellent nights now its time to see how Eric’s went.
“Dude, I didn’t know my dick could spew that many times...Holy shit. That was amazing....Now I’m ready to go bust some heads. So...Uh let’s go fight. I wanna kick some ass, after pounding ass all night. Which, by the way, after I got done, one of the ho’s was like ‘I feel pregnant.’ I looked at her like she was retarded and shoved her face back down where it needed to be: On my cock, nawmean?”
I smiled and chuckled a little looking from Brian to Eric. I noticed one person was missing. We all went downstairs to see Kyle passed out with the remainder of the chicks that the three of us hadn’t laid claim to. By my count Kyle was laying with about ten chicks. I thought to myself. DAMN this kid is working it out. I laughed and woke his ass up and he got up and still wrapped in his blanket walked off to get dressed. After a few moments Kyle rejoined us and I began to speak.
"Damn Kyle. Looks like you had one hell of a night. Why didn’t you say that you had game."
Kyle smiled not knowing what to say. After a few moments he began to speak.
"I learned from the best man. You three. I saw how you guys were picking up chicks like mad last night and adjusted my style. I didn’t expect it to work out as well as it did but shit. I’m not complaining."
I stood by with a smile on my face as I saw Brian step up to Kyle. What happened next nearly made me piss myself.
"Well kid, how’s it feel to finally lose you virginity? Looks like you had a few good teachers, especially that blond right there in the middle, did she teach you that thing she does with her tongue? I’ll never forget the first party we threw and she came out to. It’s almost like she’s going to tie your dick in a knot but she doesn’t and that’s what made that shit so crazy! Anyway, now you can hang with us and finally feel like you fit in!"
Eric looks over at Brian and Kyle. He shook his head. I couldn’t believe that Brian had just said that. Eric smiled as he began speaking.
“So, I talked to Lucky last night, while I was balls deep in the redhead...who was tounge deep in the blonde.....who was making out with the brunette. Apparently, she decided we weren’t compatible. So, she dumped me...while I dumped my load in the blonde...who dumped her load in the brunette’s mouth. Go figure. Women.”
What the hell was up? EJ never talked like this anymore. I guess he was coming back to the EJ of old. The EJ me and Brian both knew and somewhat loved. Or hated, depending on who you asked. This change in EJ was odd but in a good way I thought. I smiled and then began to speak.
"Shall we be off then? Our bodies aren’t going to work themselves out. That and we got another party to come back to."
I walked to the front door as the other three followed and one of them began to speak. It was Brian’s voice I was hearing.
"We need to make sure that Pimptastic Kyle gets his fucking ring time today! I haven’t hit the Rokket on anyone in a while and i think he should be the first to make sure I don’t break your neck when I hit it on you if we ever get the chance to meet in the ring!"
I heard the tone in Brian’s voice and it put a bit of a smile on my face. Eric was the next person to speak, as cocky as usual.
“Yeah, I’ve been dying to use the Evenflow on someone as well. It’s been awhile since I heard some skull connect with canvas. I need it. It’s good to see you guys again. Maybe we should dominate this company like we have in many other companies. Plus, I have my eye on a lady or two in this company. There’s one chick who looks physically dominating, and the other one, is just HOT.”
I smiled because of what both Brian and Eric said as I looked from both of them to Kyle who looked like he was ready to shit his pants. Not only was he going to get some ring time today. He was going to get ring time with his fucking idol. I thought about what Brian had said about the Rokket and what Eric said about the Evenflow. All I could do was laugh. Once I had my bearings I began to speak.
"You hit the Rokket on me? You gotta be joking. You must not have learned from yesterday. We proved I am quicker than you. I can come from all angles. Where you can only come from just a few limited ones. I can take to the air when needed. Your ass barely gets on the top rope. But if you must test out the Rokket. I guess I will have to let you in on my secret weapon as well. I will not tell you what it is or what it is called. But once it is hit. The match will be over."
I could sense it the competitive nature in Brian and I coming out. We were going to give these people one hell of a show. And leave it all in the ring as we always have and always will. But now it was time to head to the gym and start the workout. I headed outside watching as Brian, Eric and Kyle followed behind me. The Lambo wasn’t big enough for all of us so I watched Brian get into his Silverado that i had bought him a few days earlier. I was curious who he was going to let ride with him and the answer didn’t surprise me one bit.
"Kyle, get in, you don’t want to ride with that crazy fucker. I thought we were going to die last time he got me in that thing."
I couldn’t help but laugh a little after hearing what he had said. Kyle got in the truck with him leaving Eric and I behind as they sped off. We eventually caught up with them and passed them on the highway. Once we passed them I sped up to about ninety five miles an hour and pulled way out in front pulling off the highway and pulling a drift like slide into my parking spot in front of the gym. I looked at Eric who looked like he just spent fifteen minutes trying to hold on for dear life. I laughed a little as I stepped out of the car Eric doing the same. Once the doors were shut I activated the alarm and we stood and waited for Brian and Kyle to arrive. Within moments Brian and Kyle came into my plain of view. The rumble of the 4x4 truck was almost deafening as I knew exactly what he was about to do. I watched as he flew by the gym locking the brakes and then doing a 180 in the middle of the road to park across the street. The engine cut off and I watched with a smile on my face as he and Kyle stepped out onto the black top. I watched as he looked over at me with that arrogant grin plastered to his face.
"You might have the speed, but we got the power! It doesn’t matter how fast or how slow you get to where you’re going, as long as you arrive in style!"
I look over to Eric, who has his trademark smirk etched upon his face. He looks as if he’s pondering something, knowing him the poontang he got earlier. He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it, and then opened it again.
“You know, Brian. You may have all of that in your truck, but when it comes to in the ring, I’m the total package baby. I got the speed, the power, the charisma, the talent. You can’t argue with greatness buddy. You know, you never HAVE been able to beat me.”
Eric laughed as he patted Brian on the shoulder. I couldn’t help but laugh a bit. The competitive nature between the two of these has always been there, just like their friendship. The wicked smirk that came across Brian’s face was just as would be expected. I had a feeling he would have had something to say.
"Most of that theory would be true but I’m curious how I would have had a chance to beat you in the ring when we’ve never had a chance to find out? Maybe with the two of us arriving here in WWCF together and Tyler in Thy WWE, we’ll give them all a show on world wide television just on different channels."
I looked back to Eric. Of course he was going to have something to say, and he never disappointed me. Even Brian couldn’t make that smirk go away from his face. I swear, he will have to get that damn thing surgically removed from his face.
“Why wait until a WWCF show? We got the ring right here buddy boy. You’re weak ass mind couldn’t keep up with my manipulating mind. Let’s just go right here cowboy. If you’re up for it.”
I watched as Eric patted Brian on the shoulder with a laugh. I continued to laugh as I watched them play the “I can do anything you can do better” game. It made me think of a spur of the moment idea. After a few moments of mulling over the idea I began to speak.
"You know guys, as much as I love to see you guys play this game. How about this. Kyle go get a couple of the referee jerseys out of the store room and bring them out here. While I discuss my plan with these two men."
Kyle scurried off to the store room and I just stood there and watched them stare each other down chest to chest. He could tell that this was going to be epic.
"Alright. Here is what is going to happen. You guys seem like you guys want to have a match right here right now. how about this. Kyle and I will officiate the match while you guys fight it out. And once this is all settled we can actually train. Because this is a match I have been waiting for. For a really long time."
I stopped speaking and looked to Brian and Eric who were still staring each other down. After a few moments Kyle showed back up with the referee jerseys and we put them on. I am still waiting for Eric or Brian to chime in with what they think about this. I looked at Brian who still had that twisted smirk on his face. I could almost see exactly what he was thinking.
"I’d say that sounds perfect! This is a spectator sport though, so why don’t we wait a few hours and make some money off this thing. We’ll get Kyle to set a sign outside, “The Soldier of Chaos” Brian Blades versus “The Master of Masterbation” Eric James! We could fill this place to the roof and then it truly would be a show. That’s the only way we do it. We do our best work when given the chance to show off in front of a crowd. Kyle can play booky and take the bets and Tyler can wear the stripes and call the shit right down the line. What do you say pretty boy?"
I look over toward Eric, who has a smile upon is face, he nods his head in agreement.
“One condition. We gotta bring some WWCF babes here. I want to see some sexy women here if I’m gonna wrestle the Redneck.”
Eric laughed and gave Brian a punch on the shoulder, a friendly one. I smiled and began to speak .
"I don’t know if I can make that happen but I can get all the girls from the house come down here. How does that sound?"
I looked over to Brian who simply gave me a short nod of his head. He had his game face on and it was enough to make even me nervous. There was a reason this guy had forty two championship reigns under his belt and Eric was about to find out. I watched as he spoke to me feeling the intensity in his voice.
"I’d say that was a fantastic idea! What a better way to kick this off then showing those lovely ladies why we are the best at what we do! Only one thing missing, I’m sure that Cole would have loved to get some revenge on Eric for that broken ankle."
I couldn’t tell if Brian was joking or not, even in this state though I knew that one thing was for sure, what started in the gym was going to be left in the gym at the end of the day. Brian always seemed to be very good at keeping his personal feelings out of the business. Eric looked over to me, and then to Brian, and then back to me. A smile formed on his face as he extended his hand out toward Brian.
“May the best man win, my friend. No hard feelings when I do?”
Brian smiled at Eric's cocky comment and began to speak.
"I wouldn’t get too cocky yet! I may not be as young as I was a few years ago, but I’ll still make you cry like a bitch! We leave it in the ring, even if I do embarrass you."
I looked towards Eric, who was nodding furiously. He smiled as he brushed past Brian and myself. He turned around and looked at the two of us.
“See you guys at match time.”
I watched Eric head outside, I didn’t really know where he was headed but I knew he’d be back. I looked at Brian who looked like he was ready to go to war as he spoke to me.
"I’m gonna go gear up."
I went and got everything set up and got the asses in the seats you could say. Everyone that showed up was ready for a awesome show and that was show we were going to give them. Everyone waited in anticipation for the match to begin. Even though the match was still a couple hours away we still had people lined up out the front door and almost around the block. A few hours went by and it was time. I hired a professional ring announcer for this match and got an official time keeper and everything was underway. This match was nuts it was a match we all knew most of us wanted to see. I said I would call it right down the middle i was telling the truth. But I never said I wouldn’t get involved in the match. Eric and Brian had both locked up in the center of the ring.No one getting the upper hand. That was until Brian reversed Eric sending him into the ring post shoulder first and then out to the floor. Brian taunted the crowd as Eric laid on the outside on the floor grasping his shoulder writhing in pain. Eric was a good actor. He really didn’t hit the post as hard as it looked. But him being on the outside gave me the chance to strike. I ran at the ropes and jumped at them with my two feet landing on the middle rope. Springing back off the ropes twisting my body around and thrusting my leg out. I kicked Brian in the side of the head knocking him down to the mat on his back.I looked down at Brian whom to the real world I just kicked the shit out of but in wrestling world it was barely a tap. I looked down at him and pointed subtly to the turnbuckle and saw him nod just a little. It was then I ripped off my referee stripes and threw the shirt to the crowd. And jumped up onto the turnbuckle instead of the natural climbing everyone is used to seeing. I looked down at Brian and he nodded once again as I jumped off and started my rotations, one full backflip and two full three hundred and sixty degree spins and landing on top of Brian in a shooting star press type maneuver. I stood up and looked at Eric who had just turned around looking at what I had just done. He looked up at me and nodded as he climbed up to the apron and I walked over and as he went to step through the roped I kicked him in the stomach wrapped my arm around his head and hit the spike ddt. I stood up and told the time keeper to ring the bell and then told the ring announcer to call the match a draw. I know I wasn't supposed to get involved but I have a feeling someone was recording this match and this would be on the internet before the night was over So I figured I would make a statement so I grabbed a mic that was linked up to the PA system we had installed and began to speak.
"The Undertaker and Triple H. Two of the most recognized names in thy WWE. Numerous Championships between the two. But they are old. I am a young superstar. I even surpassed Orton's Record of youngest world champion in Professional Wrestling History.Where will you go when Insanity strikes? I can tell you where. All of you will be layed out on the mat out cold because two things I learned in my ventures in this business is no one gets up from the Psychotic Tendencies or Reality Revision. And it is every man for himself Sure it is an tag match but that doesn't mean a damn thing. I know there will be some double teaming but when it come down to it, it will be every team for himself. So you can try your heat out to take me down first but there is one thing you don't know about me. And that is even when I seem down and out, you better look out because those precious seconds you spent trying to get the win on the other person, I will be poised like a viper ready to strike. And when that belll rings at the end of the match my music will be blasting over the PA system and you guys will be lain out on the canvas. Just one thing to remember everybody, with me Anything Is Possible. And everyone here in Houston is down with that let me hear it. "
